I could make either November 20 or Dec. 11/12.
And if you guys are looking for more company for that drink, I'd be all over that, too. :)
Jackie "the Librarian" wrote: "Brian wrote: "Have you read the graphic novel Fallout about Oppenheimer? I've been meaning to get around to it, and Booklist gave it a good review. If you're not all Oppenheimered out..."
Well, you know Jackie, by committing to a 721 pg. book about Oppenheimer, you are also committing to being the designated Oppenheimer expert for Thurston County. From now on, you should always have an Oppenheimer-related book on your roster...
::evil laugh::
Jackie and I realized last night that we didn't post our newly agreed upon time here for Elaine and Rachael to see. Friday, September 18th, 630ish at Sizzizi's. How does that work for you two?
Eeks! Can't wait to hear how it is! I've got it at home at the moment (although I might wait for the apparently stellar TBCD). :)
Any time on that weekend works for me. And as long as we meet at 6 or later, the day doesn't matter.
Peppers - I'm eager to try it since they've moved to their current location - I LOVE their salsa verde, but haven't been there for a very long time.
La Taqueria - sounds good - I hear they're highly recommended as authentic, and I've enjoyed it when I've been.
Cascadia Grill - haven't tried it since Plenty left. But I'd be up for checking it out.
QB - me too. :) Although it can be crazy on weekends for a group as big as ours. But I'd never say no.
Water Street - always good, but yes, spendy. More variety than the Dockside if I remember correctly.
Fish Tale - reserving upstairs sounds like a good plan if we can swing it.
I did enjoy both Swing and The Mark when we've been to those places recently. But I'm all for changing it up. :)
Just got my latest issue of Bitch Magazine in the mail last night and another of L.J. Smith's vamp series is on their Bitch List this issue! Good job keeping up on the vamp books, J!
Okey doke. I probably won't have my work schedule for Sept. solidified by then, but I can bring the rest of the stuff. :)
I take it that's "week" on the second weekend, J? :) Hrm. Sundays would work best for me, as I work an occasional Saturday (and I think Agatha does too, probably opposite mine if our ridiculous schedules are any indication. :)).
heehee - that may be challenging with a bunch of librarians. I know I often have 1pm or 2pm lunches. Plus, we work a fair distance from each other... I'm willing to try though...
Whoops! Turns out I have to attend my grandmother's birthday on Friday night (14th). So... September?
Oh brother. It's complicated getting together three community-involved women! ;)
Wait, the 22nd. Isn't that the day of our general OlyReads bookgroup at the Dockside? Does that mean Jackie won't be joining us? :( Does that mean the Dockside might be slammed? Good thing Agatha got us reservations!
Re: Quiet Fifth - A person named "Rachael" I haven't met yet made a comment very early in this discussion, so I wasn't sure if she was in on the plans.
Friday the 14th works for me. :)
Hrm... Well, I vote reschedule so all four (is there still a quiet fifth?) can make it. What other times work for people?
