Annvelwis, Here's a few suggestionsStrayis already on your to read list and I quite enjoyed it.
Would-Be Witchby Kimberly Frost was recommended to me by someone (Can't remember who or why) and it was good. I think it's part of a series but i haven't read any others.
A Friend Like Henry is the third book. It's not light reading, but it's one of those books that sticks in your head.
We usually don't - he'll only read stuff with vampires were animals or game related stuff in it (Halo, game workshop).
Kasia, I finished The Wages of Sin. It took some time to get to it because as soon as it arrived in the house the bf danced off with it. We both love it and now he's waiting impatiently for the next.
I'll read anywhere, but my favourites are in bed,in the bath, on the couch once the kids are in bed, or during the summer sitting in the field with my horse. Or anywhere I can sit with a cigarette (NEVER START SMOKING)in one hand and a cup of tea.

Ok, there's a local author Hazel McIntyre I think Lament in the Wind is my favourite. She tends to base her stories in the local are and history which is probably why I like them. It'd be interesting to see what others make of her.
Nicholas Evans is great too so there's The Smoke Jumper
There's Stray, which I quite like. Or Maria V Snyder. I read Storm Glass but I think reading the others would have helped a bit first.
Or there's Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. I love Elphaba. She's great
Kasia, I don't mind the overboardness - It just gives me more to read! But I think I'm going to read The Wages of Sin now.LibraryLass, I've got a few ideas so
Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World I found it to be really sweet but if dogs are more your thing there's always Marley & Me. I keep re-reading and it still makes me laugh and cry each time.
A Wayne in a Manger since it's coming up to Christmas (Sorry to anyone reading this who is gearing up for the obligatory christmas shopping panic. The author is/was a school inspector and he wrote about all the mistakes that the kids made during the annual navity play.
Thidly, there's Cecelia Ahern. I'd recommend either PS, I Love You or Thanks for the Memories. Both are good and I think PS, i love you the book is much better than the movie.
Cathy, thanks for the suggestions and I think I'll start with Dead witch walking but knowing me I'll end up reading the others at some point too.Yz, these suggestions are muddled - a bit like my mind today but anyways
The first is Under the Duvet Shoes, Reviews, Having the Blues, Builders, Babies, Families and Other Calamities It's a collection of column by Marian Keyes - some have already been published in newspapers and magazines over here in Ireland and some have not. It's mostly funny but it does have some very moving bits as well. There's also a follow up called Further Under the Duvet also incredible funny.
The second is Full Moon Rising. I'm suggesting this because I'm not entirely sure what I thought of it but I couldn't put it down.

I think I'll try Kiss Of Midnight. It sounds like a series I could become addicted to.
Tammy,
The first I would like to recommend is Blood Price by Tanya Huff.
The second book is Sea Swept. It was the book that made me like Nora Roberts.
The third book is Interview With the Vampire. I really liked it.
MaryI really liked Undead and Unwed so much so that I've got the next book in the series sitting waiting for me to start it.
Mary, I think I'll try Undead and Unwed to start. It sounds like something I'll like. And I've been meaning to try Richelle Mead's other books so this gives me added incentive to find them.
Annvelwis, I loved Dead Until Dark. I found it really easy to get into. I'm now looking for the rest of the series. Thanks for a great recommendation.
Emily, I'm going to recommend three of my favourite books. The first is Last Chance Saloon by Marian Keyes She's an Irish author and her books are a perfect balance of humour, romance and seriousness.
The second is Love Story by Erich Segal
The third is another Irish author. Cathy Kelly and the book is Best of Friends.
My dad used to read to me when I was litle but as soon as I could read I just read myself. My mother is one of those exceptionally odd people who buys books but she never reads. She says she's going to but ends up playing golf instead. Dad doesn't read either but it's more to do with him being unable to be still. Ever. He's a farmer and seems to think he should be working and if he's not working then he's thinking about what work she could be doing at the moment and usually ends up getting up and going outside to 'just check' something that probably doesn't need checking in the first place. My brother has read Harry Potter 1 - 6 but still hasn't got around to reading 7. My partner wasn't a big reader until he met me. Now he reads. My grandfather used to read, mostly short stories and classics, so I think my love of reading probably came from him. He spent hours when I was litle teaching me to read, bits of history and for some odd reason algebra.
