Also check out Margaret Atwood's most recent visit to the Oryx and Crake dystopia - The Year of the Flood. This is a great listen and equally disturbing a far as her vision of society. I think it's so unsettling because it seems more than possible that something like this could happen.
Just finished Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, by Richard Matheson. This collection of 20 short stories was read by 12 different narrtors. Was wonderfully creepy to hear. You can go to my site to hear/read a review which includes 6 clips from the audiobook (included with publisher's permission). I think you'd enjoy hearing them.http://www.audiobookdj.com/home/2009/10/...
Yesterday was Ray Bradbury's 89th B-Day! That made me remember Fahrenheit 451 and I pulled up a review I'd recorded a while back to post on my site. If you've got 7 minutes, why not give it a listen & refresh your memory as to why this is such a classic! Clips from the audiobook are included in the review. http://ow.ly/kZce
Always Looking Up - by Michael J. Fox. It's a memorable book because Michael narrates - and once you hear how difficult it is for him to do so many things, you've got to admire the guy for mustering the courage/strength to read his own work. He does a fantastic job, but there are sections where you can hear his voice struggling - and that just makes the message all that more powerful.
Hi John,I'm a science fiction fan and would be glad to talk SF and/or audio with you. As the audiobook review editor for SF Site, I get to hear lots of great SF. I enjoy the full-blown productions of GraphicAudio as well as the more traditional single narrator works - just finished Julian Comstock narrated by Scott Brick.
