I liked it a lot. Definitely one of the best books I've read in the past year. I'm interested in looking for more books about that time. I read the "Gurensey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" this year as well, and found that to be a very good book about WWII as well.
15) Summer's Path by Scott Blum
16) The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
17) Dear Mr. President by Gabe Hudson
Great. Purple Hibiscus and she has another book out Half of a Yellow Sun which I would like to read as well. thanks for the recommendation.
Nicely done Erin. Some of these were really long books. The Pillars of the Earth & The Hour I First Believed were both long. How did you like Purple Hibiscus and Beloved? I've got Beloved to read. I'm currently reading A Mercy (hopefully will finish today).
Erin, I liked "The Hour I First Believed" but I kind of felt like he saw how long it was and he just rushed the ending. Once you got to the Columbine shootings is got pretty good, but I didn't really like all the stuff about his family history, but he did tie it all in at the end. I really liked his book "This Much I Know is True" that's one of my favorite novels.
Kittiya, I've decided to go back for my Master's in English, so I'm taking the pre-reqs. I only had 3 cr in English so I need at least 12 cr in 200 level or higher. So I'm reading a lot of short stories as well as the novels I read in my spare time.
Don't know if I'll hit 150, I'm back taking classes so this will be challenge!! Heregoes.
