Mod's Stuff (153 new)
Jan 15, 2014 10:00AM

12544 I have a question and apologize as it may not be relevant for this specific group, but not sure where to ask. I noticed that now my email digests from Goodreads have huge book cover pics. I hate this! Do you know if I can change settings somewhere in Goodreads to change it back to the old digest, or is anyone else having this issue? Thank you! Karen

Alondra, I hear you and I have the same problem! I have stacks of books at home and virtual stacks on my TBR pile. I am looking forward to reading Rose Under Fire by Elizabeth Wein--I preordered it and just received it today! (Too bad I didn't add it to this 2014 Challenge list!) Her first book, Code Name Verity is amazing.

I am looking forward to The Brothers K and The Secret History most from my list. I loved the Goldfinch. What about you?

Miriam, The Brothers K was in my 2013 Challenge list, but I just couldn't squeeze it in, so moved it to the top for this year! :) Thanks!

Wow, you have some great books on your list! #1 and 6 are wonderful, as is Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. The Kindness of Strangers was hard to read but very well done.

But The Kitchen House is amazing! It is quite sad, but one of my favorite books, great storytelling.

12544 I did pretty well in 2012's Challenge but failed miserably in 2013. 2014, here I come with a new list and new resolve! 12 books isn't the issue, it's squeezing in 12 + 2 book club reads per month, plus all the new titles that come out that I drop everything for to read, too! :)

Looking forward to reading everyone's 2014 Challenge list!

Thanks Mary and Happy Holidays!
