Song of the Day: Naturally by Selena Gomez
A teenage girl, fifteen, sixteen at the most, climbs down an ancient, rusted fire escape, one that clearly hasn't been used in decades. Her blonde hair is cut in an endearing but edgy pixie that reaches just past her chin. She's two stories off the ground when the floor falls through. Surprsingly, she doesn't fall- she flips in midair, grabs hold of a conveniently located ledge, and drops to the ground. She lands on her feet, straightens up and laughs, as though intoxicated by some freedom or adrenaline. She walks forward into the futuristic city, the tall buildings stretching like walls in an endless line of steel and cement. Laughter rings out, echoing against the silent metropolis. The girl follows the sound, running around a corner and then skids to a halt as the laughter gives way to dead silence and shock. A group of maybe ten people stare at her. She opens her mouth to speak but no words come out.
If these weird vision dreams don't stop coming to me in that time right between being awake and asleep, I'm going to go insane.

I love that song. :) Thanks for the brownies! They're perf- being virtual, they can't actually make me fat, but I can still enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling of being made baked goods.

Thanks! I don't really consider myself a "poet", per se. I treat poetry kind of like a diary. :)

My birthday's coming up too, and while we're not doing anything on the actual day, I'm having a party on the first week of January. I'm calling it, A Hawaiian Luau Under Winter Skies. It's going to be really fun. We're going swimming, ordering Hawaiian pizza, the works. We can pull it off (it being having a swim party in January) because A. I live in California and B. We can heat the pool.
That may have been TMI, but oh well. I'm excited. :)
