12498 Whoo hoo! Congrats!

I just added it to my Goodreads "to read" list! Thanks for the teasers. Your stories sound intriguing! Reading some bits here and there from some of the other authors on the line-up, I can tell it's going to be a good collection.

Great idea on interviewing your characters too! I think I should do that too, just to gain some extra insight!
:D

Stay warm!

12498 Thanks Dee!

I have had a lovely, and somewhat relaxing weekend. I hope yours was too!

Thanks again, for all your encouragement. I can't wait to send you a finished copy! :) It's wonderful to have you to encourage all of us out here trying our hand at writing. We are so lucky and blessed to have you here.

Thank you, as always, for spreading your cheer, and for nurturing all of us fledgling writers.

Dee (and Tink too!)

Wow, sounds like great new characters for great new stories! I agree with Andrea, I need to eat some some of the snacks you guys are munching on before bed!

Keep dreaming of great characters and story lines!

12498 Wendy, I'm so sorry about your grandma's condition. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

12498 Ahh, good to know! I'll drum up ten test subjects, uh, I mean reviewers when it comes time for that. I'm going to force my brother, but he doesn't know that yet. ;) He's really good with time stories, and I want him to make sure there are no obvious time paradoxes.

Thanks!
:)

12498 Hey Andrea!

I haven't dropped by in a while, so I thought I'd come by and steal one of Harry's famous brownies! *devours two quickly*

Great job on NaNo, by the way! Wasn't it exhilarating!? I had a lot of fun, but am happy to be able to slow down a bit now.

Thanks for the brownies! Great job as always, Harry!

12498 Hey Wendy, I haven't dropped by in a while, so I thought I'd say hi!

I really like the TrueBlood Series as well, but I thought the first season was better than the second. (Then again, I've only seen the last 5-6 episodes of the 2nd season.) The good thing is that they have subplots that are different from the books that still keeps us fans of the books guessing what will happen next. The second season though, seemed to be mostly subplot, and even less of the 2nd book material.

I have Netflix, so I rent almost all of the TV series that I watch, which saves money, but then I have to time my DVD's just right to that they mail me the next disk by the time I finish the previous one.

I think you'll enjoy it!

It's exciting that you'll be sending query letters for Coyote Dreams soon! Keep us posted on all of that! I'm hoping to finish my story soon, then edit, and make my friends/family read it. How many people did you have read it?

12498 Hey Tink!

Great job on your word counts! Happy early Birthday!

12498 Good evening!

So I took a day off from writing, but got back into it today. The kiddos had another writing benchmark test so in the interest of showing solidarity I just had to write too. I was able to knock out some more words.

Wednesday's words: 1038

Whoo hoo!

The kids were so dramatic today! Some of them love writing, and others... not so much. This one little boy really worked himself up, he was throwing a silent crying tantrum, which is very unusual for 4th graders by the way, and would tune it up a notch when he thought I was looking. I sat nearby so that he could see I was writing too. (They did seem to get a kick out of their teacher writing a story too.) I did what I did best, reminded him of the task, and let him cry it out until he realized that I wasn't going to let him get out of it or do it for him. He cried for about 20 minutes or so, then it was time for lunch. He came back from lunch feeling much better, and began writing without having to be told. The funny part was that after lunch he started encouraging others with, "Don't forget your story web." Looking over what he wrote, it wasn't half bad either.

I'm off to bed! Night!

12498 Hi Dee!

Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, NaNo did get me back into a routine of writing, and my story is SO close to being finished. Finishing the story was my ultimate goal for NaNo anyway.

Here are the last couple of word counts:
Sunday: 107 words

Monday:430 words

Total for NaNo: 30,185

It's officially December 1st, and NaNo is over. I'd like to take a moment to reflect on what I've learned.
*I WILL start a new piece of writing when I do NaNo again next year. Trying to finish a current piece is too taxing when you are trying to meet word minimums.
*Try to cut a few more social events if possible, and try to get ahead on grading for before November.
*I can write an average of 1,000 words a day for a month, and not go completely insane...a little insane is ok, and fairly normal in my opinion. ;)

It is a relief for it to be over, I'd like to read a little, and catch up on a couple of TV shows. :D

My new goals for December:
*finish my story
*Edit a good chunk or all of the story

I better be off to bed! Night all! Have sweet and restful conclusion of NaNo dreams!

12498 Dee wrote: "Hey Julie,

Happy Belated Turkey day to you too!

Yeah I was at 36K (or close to that) this weekend, and knew I had to play catch-up.

My problem was that I started the month off with a battl..."

Thanks Dee and Paul! It's good to know you both run through slow patches as well. I'm finally at the end of the story, and have been working through details meticulously, which is slowing me down. I should just try to pound through it and see what happens.

I did jump to the last scene, and added more mushy details than necessary. Yes Dee, I find writing the romantic stuff much easier. Now I have to go back and tackle the conflict again.

Ok, back to writing. It's raining here for once, so maybe that will help!

12498 Hey Dee,

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! I hope it was wonderful!

I just saw that you met your goal and some on the NaNo site! Congrats!! SOA3 must be off to a wonderful start! :D

I'm only at about 30k words right now...so I'll have to be happy with that. It was a LOT of fun participating, and it really helped me make some gains in my story, and that's all I can really ask for. :)

Here's to a wonderful, restful Sunday! :D
11 days ago, 08:55AM

12498 Hey, I got a lot written, but it still won't be enough. I think if I can get over 30k, that will be just fine, and everything else is gravy. 30k, from this point, if definitely within reach.

Saturday's words: 4,624

NaNo total: 29,648

Here's to a happy sunday and I hope everyone gets the rest you need, or in my case the gets the chores you need done completed before the beginning of a new week.

Ok, I have 2 days left of NaNo...let's see the damage I can make!
12 days ago, 10:33AM

12498 Ok, unfortunately, I didn't get at much written yesterday either. I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that I won't make 50k. It's ok, it was quite a large undertaking during a very busy month so, the fact that I've gotten this far is pretty good for me. *sigh*

Friday's words: 629

NaNo Total so far: 25,024

I may be behind, but I'm not throwing in the towel! I'll still be adding to my word counts. Just so you know, If I still wanted to make it, I'd need 8,334 words each day. That would be today, tomorrow, and Monday. Realistically, I know that won't happen, but I'm still going to write anyway. I mainly just want to finish this story!

And I'm off to write!

12 days ago, 11:41PM

12498 I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful! Mine was lovely and very busy all at once!

I didn't get as many words written as I'd hoped, but that's ok.

Turkey day words: exactly 2,400

It's weird how it was exact. I'm still working on Friday's words, even if it is technically Saturday. ;)
14 days ago, 08:07AM

12498 OK, it's been an hour, and I wrote 1,356 words. I have some great momentum...but I need to get ready to go to my parents...sigh.

I'm thankful for momentum, and hope for some more quiet time to write today!

Happy Turkey Day!
:D

12498 Happy Thanksgiving All! It's my favorite holiday, and I'm SOOOO excited!!

So, I did get myself in gear a bit yesterday. I didn't get as far as I would have liked, but if I can keep up the momentum, I think I may have a chance of reaching 50k.

Wednesday's words: 3,636

this brings my NaNo total up to 21,995... at Ieast I broke 20k...My goal today is to break 25k...or higher!

I better get crackin' if I'm going to do that! OK, I'll give myself an hour of writing before I get ready to go see my family.

Ready, set, write!
15 days ago, 07:11AM

12498 Good morning Wendy! :D

Thanks, I'm feeling so much better now that most of my stressors are gone...for now! ;) I'm looking forward to a writing day! I think I'll even go to one of the local events this morning! A friend an I want to have our own write-in as soon as she gets off work today! Here's yesterday's word count:

Last nights words: 726

Today count (so far): 293 (I'll be adding to that soon!!)

Here's to a happy writing day, and a wonderful day before Thanksgiving!

12498 Dee, great review!! I loved the part about all fans being lumped into the age range of "eternal youth." Brilliant!
