1218 There is a fairly new book out titled "The Terror" by, Dan Simmons. The story is based on a true event around which the author incorporated some supernatural, spooky events. The story has been compared to King's stories.
Another really good book is Ann Rice's novel "The Feast of All Saints" This book is not part of Rice's vampire series. The story takes place in New Orleans, incorporates a lot of voodoo and darkish type stuff. The Feast of All Saints is one of Rice's earlier works and one of my favorites.

1218 I think my library is pretty eclectic. I am always open to reading any type of book if the writing is good. About the only thing I can think of that wouldn't interest me is any thing too violent.....I tried to read "American Psyco" and had to put it aside.....I guess it is kind of a cult book but, no thanks.

The person below me sneaks books into the house and tries to make them appear to have been there "all along"

1218 A Little way into a book titled "The Tenderness of Wolves" by, Stef Penney. This novel is a mystery written by an author from the U.K. The book was long listed for the Orange Prize and it won the Costa Book of The Year for 2006. (formally the Whitbread Award)
Having said all that......so far I am enjoying the book a lot :>))

1218 Having moved around a bit in my life time, I was forced, at various times, to let go of some of my books......very painful experiance.
I keep most everything. I have a book inscribed "Merry Christmas Jeannie
Love, Mom and Dad ---- 1955"
I am getting better at giving books away once I've read them but my older ones are with me for life. They are more than a book.....they are the time and place in which I read them. Letting go of books is like letting go of friends.
