Robyn, I loved Guernsey! It's a past group read, so you might want to check out that thread once you finish.
Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"I really, really liked it. The only thing I would warn you about is some pretty intense violence. It was almost enough to make me put the book down forever. But I'm glad I stuck with it!
Maria wrote: "i liked Willig's story, it was odd though. it was historically based, but had lots of modern chic-litish elements to it."I like the rest of the series better than the first. They don't veer quite so close to bodice-ripper territory!
I love Sara Addison Allen's books too. Do you know she has a new one coming out? It looks like it's due out in March. The Girl Who Chased the Moon
Claire, Bohjalian's Skeletons at the Feast is a FANTASTIC WWII novel. I can't recommend that one enough. I agree with Marti that The Double Bind is great too.
For Larsson to go into detail about where the bullet was, I thought he must have done some research to see what he could write and still stick with the facts. So I didn't have a problem with it either. Except to be upset that she was shot at all!
Ugh. Fall On Your Knees. I pretty much loathed that book. I felt bad about it because that was one of the first books my husband ever bought me as a gift. I've since decided that Oprah and I do not see eye to eye when it comes to books.
I thought All the Evil happened when Zala practically killed her mother and Salander set him on fire and ended up on the psych ward for her trouble. Maybe I'm wrong though.
I liked this one a lot better than the first. My interest in Salander is really the only reason I even finished Dragon Tattoo. I was hoping we would get more of her story in this one, and I'm so glad we did. But I am left wondering if that whole first part in the Caribbean will tie into the last book or if it was just a random place to start the story and show how much Salander "hates men who hate women."
I must be the only one who liked this one a lot more than the first one. I'm glad we chose it for a group read, because I honestly don't know if I would ever have gotten to it on my own. I really was that indifferent to the Dragon Tattoo.
Well, I got a very basic profile up, but it's time for this night owl to go to bed. The site's looking good though!
Donna, I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by the shopping in TGWPWF! I hope there's not more in store.
I'm getting started on The Girl Who Played With Fire. I'm glad to be reading about Salander again, but sometimes the details drive me crazy. I do NOT need to know the exact name of each piece of furniture she bought from IKEA.

I finished Prayers for Sale. It was a sweet story, but the writing wasn't great for me, so it only got three stars. Now I'm trying to start The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. No, I haven't seen the movie. :-)
I've been busy, but I'm heading over there right now! Thanks again, Lori! Have I told you recently how awesome you are?
I finished My Cousin Rachel. It was just okay. Rebecca was much better.I also ripped throughFound, a book my 11-year-old cousin recommended. It was a page-turner! I recommend it if you read YA!
Now I'm getting back to Moonlight in Odessa. I won it here and started it about a month ago, but I wasn't in the mood for it then. I'm going to get it knocked out now though. It starts off well.
I just finished Misery and liked it. That Annie Wilkes is a SCARY, crazy dirty-birdie, isn't she?Now I'm starting My Cousin Rachel.
