Lauren, how was The Five People you Meet in Heaven? I have a copy my mom gave me a few years ago, but I've never read it.
Finished Deja Dead yesterday, which is the first book in the Temperance Brennan series (on which Bones is loosely based).
About halfway through Juliet, Naked now, which is my first Nick Hornby book. So far, it's great.
I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and decided to pick up A Mercy by Toni Morrison.
Loved the first, but felt the pacing was a little off (uneven?) but I really enjoyed it.
About 200 pages into Libba Bray's The Sweet Far Thing and am enjoying it so far. Usually the end of a trilogy (or series) feels rushed, but that's probably less of an issue at over 800 pages.
Allison, that Deadliest Catch book looks awesome! Didn't know it existed, but I think I'll be picking it up now.
Finally finished The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox and really enjoyed it. Once I finally got a chance to read, it only took about 3 hours.
Sherrie, just saw your post on Atonement. I just put it down for a second time, I'm hoping it's me since I loved Saturday and On Chesil Beach. Glad to know someone else is having a hard time with it, though.
Allison (11167), I've had Those Who Save Us on my shelf for a few years, so I'm glad to hear it was excellent!
Allison, I'm glad you liked Esme better the second time around. I've been having a hard time getting into books lately (end of the semester).
FINALLY finished Joe Hill's Heart-shaped Box and thought it was really good. Not scary really, but supernatural.Read a few pages of The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, which sounds interesting so far.
I can't concentrate lately, but I just started reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill - my brother gave it to me last night. Hopefully once this semester ends, I can get some real reading done!
Finally finished Stardust last night and just read the old thread on the novel. Not my favorite Gaiman, but I think it was written pretty closely to the writing style of fairy tales. Moved on to Lighthousekeeping by Jeanette Winterson.
Thank you both! I'm just doing this for fun, don't have time to participate in the Spring Challenge, but it's harder than I thought (for a few letters).Lisa, it's great when you stumble across a book and wind up liking it.
