Every Girl is the End of the World for Me - Jeffery Brown (Lori - that was quite a title you just used)
It doesn't work very well and I usually have to reread - but sometimes when you just can't bear to put the book down until you finish that last page...what can you do? Symptomatic of a life that takes itself too seriously - can't stop moving, can't put the book down. (And you will be glad to know that I've only done this once or twice, it's not a habit.)
I know it's cliche, but I LOVED this one:It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of it's noisiest authorities insisted on it's being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only. - A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
Lori - I'm the same way. I carry a book with me everywhere - last time I had a fire drill at work I grabbed my purse and my book before leaving the building. I got at least 15 solid minutes of reading in. I have also read while stopped at red stop lights - but I wouldn't recommend that.
