Thanks! I didn't even know she had a book. I have to check it out.

How is the Ani Difranco book? I enjoy her music.
Johanna wrote: "This is the best book I've read so far this year. Olive K is the crankiest, most real protagonist to come along in a while. Loved her...don't want to be related to her..."
Haha. I totally agree with that. It was great reading about her but I couldn't imagine her being part of my family.

I loved Just Listen. Hope you do too!
I am reading Poison Study by Maria Snyder, gradually working on Pillars of the Earth and also just picked up Hot Six by Janet Evanovich.
I started Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb. I liked the first chapter, but thought the second was a little strange, so we will see.

I understand how you feel. That is why I got it from the library instead of purchasing it, but I definitely like it a lot. I'll keep you posted if you want.

Does it appear to be better than Time Travelers Wife?"
Carol, I agree with Lori, I think it is a better novel. But then again, I was one of the few who didn't really click with The Time Traveler's Wife though. I like the characters much better. I feel there is an interesting variety. I think the writing style is great in both, but I still seem to be pulled into this book a lot more than I was with The Time Traveler's Wife.
I'll check out the group now Lori. It'll be interesting since I am reading the book!
I am a little over a hundred pages into Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. I am really enjoying it.
Oh I definitely would. I started it awhile back, but got distracted by life and library due dates and I regret not getting back to it. This would be a good time to get a fresh start!
I am finally getting around to Dead Until Dark. I also picked up a book from the library yesterday called A Girl Made of Dust by Nathalie Abi-Ezzi. Haven't heard anything about it but for some reason I was drawn to it. I can tell you this, they are two very different books.
Marti wrote: "I have read both A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner. I enjoyed them both for different reasons and found them disturbing for the treatment of people. I preferred A Thousand Splendid Sun..."
I have heard that from a lot of people. I still need to read Kite Runner. The emotional level was quite high for Thousand Splendid Suns and it is definitely a book that stayed with me for quite awhile.
Jessi wrote: "I just finished The Kite Runner, which I loved, and I started The Glass Castle."
I really want to read both of those books. Have you read Thousand Splendid Suns? I loved that one.
I am about halfway through Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. I start teaching the Crucible next week and I thought this would be interesting to read at this time.

I have seen a lot of people give up on Everything is Illuminated I have been curious about it since I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close which I loved. Have you read that one? Does it hold up?
Lindsay wrote: "I have just started reading the Gargoyle, not what I expected but am really enjoying it. "
I really liked the Gargoyle, a little heavy in not so pleasant detail in the beginning, but it was overall a very interesting book in my opinion.
