I wanted to be cleared up about one thing. As a trekker if I read a book now that takes place in a country that I'm not adjacent to yet, later in the year when I become adjacent to that country can I then add it? There was a post earlier that made it seem like we could but I'm not sure if it was definitive. Thanks :)
I just thought of one more. It's an American series, but heavily influenced by japanese manga. I started reading it when I was 12 and still have a soft spot for it all these years later :) It's called Elfquest by Wendy and Richard Pini. The series has been re-released in the Manga format within the last five years.

I heartily reccommend CLAMP and Yuu Watase, though there are some by them that are probably closer to the 15+ age range, both authors create great stories that aren't too violent or sexual. I personally love Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa, Angelic Layer and Magic Knight Rayearth by CLAMP and Alice 19, Fushigi Yugi(Mysterious Play), and Imadoki by Yuu Watase. These are all adventure and/or light romance type stories. CLAMP has quite a few other series as well, but they definitely have a more adult streak (for instance stay away from XXX Holic, Chobits, X, and maybe Ceres until at least 15-17).
I kinda forgot I started this! Long overdue update :)

Oh I love this! Now I just have to decide whether I can hold up to being a Trekker or if I should just fly... :)
Unexpectedly finished one more :D Podkayne of Mars by Robert A. Heinlein for task 15.2 Casting Call.
Cast:
Podkayne Fries: Dakota Fanning (Sadly I just don't know many other actresses that age, I would probably pick an unknown)
Clark Fries: Hero Fiennes-Tiffin
Uncle Tom: Morgan Freeman
Girdie: Tricia Helfer
Mrs. Grew: Kathy Bates
Captain Darling: Dennis Quaid
Dexter: Sung Kang
Mommy: Charlize Theron
Daddy: Ioan Gruffudd
Mr. Cunha: George Takei
So my final tally is 160 :P Congrats to everyone who finished! That really is amazing!
I finished Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, which I enjoyed. I haven't seen any Frankenstein movies and so I wasn't going in with expectations that ruined the read. I also finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, which I think is one of my new favorite books of all time. :)
Together those fill Leora's task 30.8 (2 off the 1001 list). Which brings my total to 135. yay I'm not sure if I'll be able to get another one out this month or not, but I beat my previous score so, not bad :).
