No. My current car is finally paid off, so no new one for quite some time.
The person below me is panning on dining out this weekend.
That would be me, no matter how many times I tell myself "tomorrow I'm stepping out for lunch". Time always gets the best of me.
The person below me is wondering where they're going on vacation this year.
I read it. Without giving too much away, the story itself was very interesting/creative but I found it dragged on quite a bit. The author would take so long to describe something or express a characters feelings that I found myself wanting to skip forward through some pages. I found myself getting bored. But overall it was a good story. It's one of those cases where I believe the movie might be better than the book.
I've read nearly everything by Alison Weir and she is my fave. I love English history and found her books wonderful. They're are all non-fiction except for "Innocent Traitor" which is one of my favorites.
I recommend the following which are all excellent:
- In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick
- Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick
- Eleanor of Aquitaine by Alison Weir
And anything else by Alison Weir on King Heny VIII and his wives & children. They're all great.
Watched "W" by Oliver Stone this afternoon. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. I do have to say that I found it tame, considering it was an Oliver Stone movie. I think it could have been mutch better.

That explains alot... I kept thinking I read the wrong book as well or that I forgot what had happened in the previous one. I even went back to it and had to skim through and see if I had missed something.

I agree, they are dangerous. I got sucked right in. They're so addictive and I love it! I'm currently waiting on book #8 in paperback, so it matches the set but the wait is killing me... I'm going through withdrawal. I'm surprised I haven't broken down and bought the hardcover yet. I hope she doesn't end the series anytime soon.
Hero Aragon/Strider, LOTR
Sweet Mr. Darcy, P&P
Determined Edmond Dantes, The Count of Monte Cristo
Sarcastic & funny Eric, Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris
Love them all!
I loved "Mayflower" by Nathaniel Philbrick. I believe I learned more about the early American settlement, by reading this book, than I did in school. It was an incredible read.
I love all types. During the day, classical helps me cope with all the numbers going thru my brain. The soundtrack from The Piano movie especially. After work, especially when cooking, I've been listening to Ella, Billie, Amy Winehouse, Adele.
I simply love historical fiction, especially on British/English royalty. My fave so far was "The Innocent Traitor" by Alison Weir. It was truely an incredible story and one of my faves til today.
Wizard of Oz
The Wind in the Willows
Heidi
Hardy Boys

1001 Nights/Arabian Nights

Information overload. When I'm stressed with work, etc., I can't read. My mind goes into a frenzy...I tend to take a break for a few days and then I'm good to go again.
