1218 I rated this book 3 stars it was OK. I don't know if my expectations were just too high but as alot have said I felt no deep connection to any of the characters. If I was to compare it to Outlander another time travel love story it would surely not stand up. But it was worth my time and effort and I am looking forward to the movie because I already feel a deep connection with Eric Bana. LoL

I'm excited about all those too. The Girl Who Played with Fire is already released overseas. I wish they would just release The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest also. He wrote all of them before he died so its not like they are waiting for it to be written. I am also excited for John Irving's newest that is coming out in October Last Night in Twisted River A Novel

1218 I reread fairly often off my favorites shelf in RL. But I must admit that since I have joined GoodReads and Paperbackswap.com I haven't reread anything.

1218 Oh I forgot my most hated book ever. I was forced to read The Iliad in 9th grade. I liked the story overall but I have never had to work as hard to read a book ever. It was work to me anyway.

1218 With Twilight I kept waiting for it to get better. My friend who is in love with it let me borrow the series last month. I found that I read them mainly because I kept waiting for something good to happen. IMO the last was the best and that is because SOMETHING finally happened. Although it wasn't great I did finish them but I think it's mainly because my guilty pleasure are paranormal reads. I hope ya'll can keep my secret. =D

1218 It seems that people have been looking at a list of some of my favorite books. LoL But I have a hated book to me and please put the knives down before reading further but.......The Poisonwood Bible. I am three-quarters of the way through I loved the characters and she could really make me see the setting but I found it slow and lost interest and for the last 75 or so pages I pushed my way through. I'll do it one day and maybe my opinion will change. I loved Great Expectations Miss Havisham is one of my all time favorite characters. But I like the crazies, birds of a feather and all that. =P Bastard out of Carolina, She's Come Undone, and Memoirs of a Geisha are beloved friends of mine.

1218 I only keep my favorite books and those do get reread. I'd say I pick something off my shelf 5 times a year. I mainly reread my John Irving favorites. Not too long ago I reread Terms of Endearment by Larry McMurty and found that I had forgotten things.

1218 The Amulet of Samarkand is very good. It is the first book in a trilogy. I have recommended this book to many and all have gone on to read the trilogy. I saw that someone mentioned Tamora Pierce and I just readWild Magic which I enjoyed. Mercedes Lackey's The Fairy Godmother is also a good book. Enjoy!

1218 We have all 3 Wimpy Kid books. I volunteer every year at the Scholastic Book Fair at my kid's school. I have a 7 yr old and 8 and a half year old. I suggest buying the 3rd book because it is actually a do it yourself journal type book that the kid's write in.Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself BookDiary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book

1218 When Rabbit Howls The main character was sexually abused by her stepfather and develops multiple personalities to cope. There are some really hard to read spots in this one.
