Shadow of the Wind and Kite Runner. Also loved Book Thief. Just finished it. All were great!
I, too, really enjoy historical fiction. Have not read Lydia Bailey but will add that to my list. Some of my favorites have been Roots by Alex Haley, Cleopatra by Margaret George, Abundance (Marie Antoinette) by Sena Jeter Naslund, and The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory.
