No, can't have those either, it's a total bummer. I have been listening to Eat, Pray, Love on my MP3 player, it would be good to be able to listen to that for a bit there too, but no. They want Jury Duty to be as unpleasant as possible, lol!
I just watched My Sister's Keeper. Sad movie, though I wish they stuck the ending from the book.
I also just watched Into the Wild, great movie.
I also really enjoyed The Soloist.
I got a jury notice a few weeks ago and I was actually excited because I was all like great, I can sit for a few hours and read my book without my daughter pestering me all the time. However, I got another letter in the mail telling me that I can't have my cell phone, duh, knew that, had to dress business casual, sucks when all you wear is scrubs or "mom" wear every day, and then NO READING MATERIAL!!! AAHHHHH!!!! My husband thinks I'm nuts because I am freaking out! I just don't know what else I'm going to do but just sit there and wait! That's just terrible, and WAY to much time for me to just think about things, and that's just plain dangerous, lol! I understand no newspapers or magazines, but a book! That's just terrible! LOL! Thought I would share my madness with you all!
Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock.
I wonder if spiders can really spell like that in their webs. And since these webs are on the high side of the ceiling that's not where the bed is, I let them stay...until I see a spider dropping down. Emma loves it up here. She knows now that you can't jup up and down on the bed and it only took her three bruises to figure it out.
Loud and proud to have served my country
The person below me is watching college football. Go HUSKERS!
Okay, I don't know if I can come up with a lot, but here are a few books I didn't really care for.
1. Inkheart, I couldn't even finish this book, just couldn't imagine any of what I was reading, and I have always thought I have a pretty vivid imagination. Just didn't like the story I guess.
2. Empire Falls. Just finished this book, I had to force myself to finish this book. I endured 400 pages before it even became interesting, and it really wasn't even all that interesting. I did like his writting style so I'll maybe pick up another one of his books. Everyone in this book was just too miserable for me.
3. The Shopaholic series. Okay, these are fun books, but just not all that interesting, not enough for a whole series.
4. Salem Falls. I love Jodi Picoult, but not this story, I found it boring.
That's all I can think of right off hand.
I just started The Queenmaker by India Edghill. I think it'll be pretty good.
I've been gone for a few months, it's been crazy crazy crazy here. Got a few other books done since then. Just finished Empire Falls by Richard Ruoso, anyone read that? Not sure if I really cared for it much, I'm on the fence.
I wish, I'm sitting in our dining room surrounded by my husband's stupid baseball/football/basketball cards that he collects.
The person below me is surrounded by pregnant people.
I love Chinese food and I enjoy good stories about China pre WW2.
Congrats on being Debt FREE!! That's awesome! Ever listen to Dave Ramsey? He would be doing the debt free WOO HOO holler!!!
The person below me should be sleeping instead of messing around on the computer.
I read Angela's Ashes a few years ago, or whenever the movie came out. I loved the book, not the movie so much. I read it follow up book Tis, was alright, but no where near as good as Angela's Ashes. His brother wrote a book too, can't think of the name right off, he's not as good as a writer as Frank McCormick. I keep meaning to pick up Water for Elephants, I want to read it, but it really doesn't peak my interest all that much.
Well, I did go a little nuts at the used book store the other day, does that count? LOL!
The person below me remembers when Chucky Cheeses use to be Showbiz pizza.

I went into the used book store yesterday and they had just gotten in over a dozen Inkheart books. Apparently they were all "irregular". The pages were all uneven cut all wrong, but still totally readable. They were selling them crazy cheap. I really don't read a lot of YA however I see the movie is out so I picked it up. I was never really wanting to see the movie at all and I have never heard of the books till I saw the trailers for the movie. I had planned on starting the book earlier today, but got caught up in something else. Has anyone else read this book or series? I figured for the couple of bucks it cost me I would go ahead and read it. I would like to know what you all thought though.
This book is one of my favorites. I saw the mini series years and years ago when I was like 13 and had been really sick and my grandmother was staying with me and we sat and watched it. I loved it and being young and dumb I didn't know that it was based off a book till a few years ago I came across it in a bargain bin. The first time I read it in just over a day, I even called in sick to work just so I could stay home all day and read it, lol! I've read it a few times more since then, I just love a good saga. I've read a couple other book by her, but I haven't read any of the Cesaer or Rome books. I'm worried that I won't care for them as much as her Australian stories.
Top 10 pieces of advice you'd give someone who was thinking about having their first baby
(Make 'em good, I need advice!)
1. Make sure you are financially stable enough to do so.
2. You can't spoil a baby under 6 months old - and they actually succeed better in life if they are loved and know it from birth.
3. Receiving blankets are the best burp cloths.
4. Take a nice vacation with your significant other before trying to get pregnant.
5. Think of all the books you won't have time to read any more... and those books that risk being mauled on or barfed upon. And the sleepless nights and smelly poo and the rest of your life left revolving around someone else...
6. Be realistic about the fact that your life will never, ever be the same. Children are still your responsibility until YOU die.
7. Think about breastfeeding, it doesn't always come naturally to everyone and don't beat yourself up over it if you are unable to breastfeed. But if you can it's the best feeling in the world to sit and look down at your nursing baby.
