Hi Louize! Wouldn't you mind if I invite you at the Filipino Group? Here's the link:http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/480....
Just click away Louize... ^_^
Well, this one's not mine but from an older friend who's totally a Stephen King addict. So here goes, ogle you folks...
"Danse Macabre" is the only hardcover he's missing...
Hadn't read The Angel's Game too. And might take a while before I do so 'coz I also got a lot of reading to do...
Jennifer wrote: "Ugh...Oprah...I don't think he needs the publicity. He's great enough."It's not for a publicity stunt... something like Oprah felt a connection with whatever King that is... Like Carrie, though I never imagined Oprah being bullied like that...
hey! Just want to ask you something guys... I think just for fun...What would you think Uncle Stevie's reaction would be if Oprah choose one of his books for her book club selection?
So many Stephen King novels nominated... Guess, I'll not be nominating any more more of his works since what's been nominated is sufficient enough...
I'll just wait for the polls... ^_^
I've just started collecting some of his novels in harcover... I'm just hoarding them for the moment and when the right time comes I guess I'll read his earlier works first. So far I got The Dead Zone, On Writing, Thinner and Hearts in Atlantis... all in hardcover. Still on the hunt for The Shining... I don't care whether they may be first editions or book-club editions as long as it's in hardcover form...

Haelee wrote: "Stephen King really doesn't get enough credit for his writing. Sure, he's been heralded as the father of modern horror, but he is pretty much a literary GENIUS. Not just for the books he writes bu..."I have On Writing sitting in my shelf. Haven't got to read it yet becasue I hadn't started reading some of King's books. Fortunately, I bought one of his Richard Bachman novel titled Thinner... I think I got the original hardcover because the it included a pseudo-picture of Bachman... Is this a first edition... I'm still on the hunt to find the rare Rage... i read somewhere this is good... and chock full of violence..

I think both are the best...

By the way, I very much liked this Kate Winslet dialogue: "You have no power to upset me!" She like said that on her very first quarrel with Michael... just love that line that's so oozing with so much positivity and strength of character. It almost seems like Hanna insubordinates the audience..
Tara wrote: "jzhunagev, my edition has the novel too, but I haven't read it yet. If you have... is it worth it? I agree with everyone, and love Poe. I'd read most of these but forgotten some of the more obscure..."Tara, I haven't read it yet though I've been meaning to because Poe sure knows how to tell a compelling story, but I'm wary since this one's not a short story and if discussed here will defeat the purpose of this thread or of the book discussed which only says "short stories"...
Ohh, poor Michael. Do you think Hanna's the cause why his character didn't develop or mature at all in the book (or to some extent in the movie)? Is the way he is addressed by Hanna, calling him "jungchen" (which I think translates to kid) an indication of this when they met again while Hanna is in prison, and Michael now a full grown man?
And besides, Elizabeth, we might never know that one day I would be making the trek you did... fate is a fickle thing...

But my sincere thanks Elizabeth, for the offer... ^_^

If I could have travel some day to Spain, or to Barcelona for that matter, this "adventure" would be one on my list of itinerary, and the other would be, of course, to see bull fighting which Hemingway so lovely describes in some of his books that I've read.

yeah... I know... ^_^

I do admit that this would be too difficult...
Well, it's still up to you to decide on this...
next month will be just alright with me and that will give us a few time to iron out this category...
thanks... ^_^
