What are ghosts if not the hope that love continues beyond our ordinary senses? If ghosts are a delusion, then let me be deluded. Let me believe in the limitlessness of love, the beauty of contradictions, the miracle that is an ordinary part of life.~The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan
In America, nobody says you have to keep the circumstances somebody else gives you.The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan
From The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan ~On people wanting her to write their life story:They just want me to tell their story, and they need a writer to put the words down in a way others will understand. They want people to know what they have been through. They want witnesses, because it's lonely to go through life with your heartaches. They are people who believe that they can find some sort of redemption, if only their story is told to the world, if only they can get it off their chest.

I watch no more than 3 hours worth of TV a week to begin with, so I won't be participating. I'm most definitely not addicted, (not even close) so I don't feel the need to purge it from my life. (Anyone who has been following the winter reading challenge knows that I've been doing little with my life except read -- I'm on my 26th book since Dec. 3rd) Good luck to the rest of you though. I know quite a few people who have, what I would call, severe TV addiction, so I know it might be rough on a few of you!!
