Ahh..I think that's the show my boyfriend watched tonight. His father has ALS so it's an issue near and dear to our hearts right now especially as they just started talking about those sorts of life support issues. It's such a hard decision I'm sure. I'll have to try and find that episode.
No problem! I'm hoping somebody from Goodreads will win! Then at least I'd feel ok about NOT winning! lol
Just thought I'd share this with you all. I never win anything so maybe you guys will have better luck! Plus I think I'm getting one for Christmas anyways. :)

Dan..I had to do a paper on that book in college and found it extremely thought provoking. It was so much more than a "war story." I think that was actually one of my favorite papers I've ever done to be honest.
Thanks Jennifer! I'm going to look into those books!I've found some interesting books so far while looking!
I'm looking for fiction that deals pretty heavily with ethical/moral issues (abortion, war, euthanasia) ..similar to some of the issues in Jodi Picoult's books. Any stand out to you?
I just read March by Geraldine Brooks and I thought it was an interesting look, among many other things, as to the justification of war.
Good luck Lori! I started using Twitter with my College Students group a few weeks ago and it has been really great! It's such a good way to update people on new happenings in the group. I think especially with a group this size you will find it really beneficial!:)
I'm currently reading Retail Hell How I Sold My Soul to the Store Confessions of a Tortured Sales Associate... its great so far! My best friend got it for me at a book show and the author was there and signed it for me saying "Jamie--See you in hell!" haha. it's actually quite therapeutic to read about other retail hell experiences. It makes me laugh about my own!
Congrats everyone!! I didn't do as well in this challenge as I would have liked to..but there is always the next one! :)
I've always been a bit skeptical of these kinds of books..but at the same time I feel as though they can have certain truths in them for me to think about and apply to my life. I feel like I'm just in a rut in my life and I'm miserable..with my job, with my lack of money, and the fact that I just am not doing all the things I want to do with my life. So..I'm looking for perhaps a few good books that might help me change my perspective. Any suggestions?

Lately my excuse has been.."I need this book for TNBBC reading challenges!" haha..I always try to fill the tasks with books I already own or could easily get at the library..but sometimes I just HAVE to go get them at the bookstore so that I have them for the challenge! lol
Some suggestions I offered in the College Students challenge:Family Matters: In honor of Jaleel White's (Urkel!), star of the hit show Family Matters, birthday in November..read a book with one of the following in the title- mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother, etc.
- Read a known classic and THEN read a book of Entertainment Weekly's List called "The New Classics:" The 100 Best Books of the Last 25 Years
(http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20207076... After reading both write a tiny review in our thread about whether or not you think the "new" classic has the ability to stand the test of time.
- Pick one of the following American literary movements from the PBS website and read 2 books from 2 different authors in this literary movement. (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americannovel/ti...) There will be a dropdown that says Literary Movements. There will be a blurb about each along with some important authors in each movement.
