The Penny A NovelVery poorly written with just the message in mind -- the author didn't care about the actual story. This could have been MUCH better.
Here is a list of the books I own that I want to read this year... It's safer this way, so I don't spend any more money. HA HA
Change of Heart
The Kite Runner
The Historian
Lifeguard
Between Sisters
Firefly LaneThis is by far my favorite book and it is definitely a good read for the airplane....as long as you bring a box of tissues!!
Love You Forever I can't believe I forgot this one! I can't even read it to my kids without choking up.
Oh my....I am a cry baby! So many books have made me cry. I'll list my top 10 biggest tearjerkers...1. Firefly Lane
2. The Notebook
3. A Walk to Remember
4. My Sister's Keeper
5. A Child Called "It" and The Lost Boy
6. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
7. Sundays at Tiffany's
8. True Colors
9. Message in a Bottle
10. Dear John
The Da Vinci Code I could not stand this book! It bored me to death and I swore I would finish it because I wanted to see the movie. Then I was even more disgusted because the book was actually better than the movie. Both of which I wish I could just forget about.
A New Earth Awakening to Your Life's Purpose This book is right up my alley but I could not stand Tolle and his matter of fact attitude and constant quotes throughout the book. I have read so many better books on the topic. I thought it might just be the book so I picked up The Power of Now A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment and I couldn't get through it because it's his attitude I don't like.
The Pilot's Wife Alright so this wasn't the worst book ever but I did not see what all the hype was. I didn't care for her writing at all.I'm sure there are more but these are the three that stand out the most.
The Secret IngredientI forgot to add this one earlier. It wasn't a bad book, a little wild but I forgot I read it and picked it up a second time to read it -- that's when I realized I read it in January. Not a book you will keep in your memory very long but a fun "fluff" read.
The Lucky OneNot one of his best works but a decent read. It took me a little while to get into it but I really enjoyed My Sister's Keeper and probably started it a little too quickly.
Three kids, laid off because of the wonderful economy, a winter of major illness going through my home. It never really ends. I'm just glad to be reading and sharing my love of books again! =)Now if only I could remember what I read over the winter.... LOL
Robert Brown FulfordI might be biased though, he is my husband. ;)
I have been looking through the list and I have a lot of GR authors on my To-Read list. I have to go through and sort which ones are which.
Joy ~ I'm going to check out Kimberly Huff. Thanks for the recommendation!!
Well, I just finished My Sister's Keeper. I'm trying to get into The Lucky Onebut I think I got used to a pattern of books and this one isn't fitting -- which is what I wanted but I think it was a bad mistake. I'm going to try a bit harder though. How about you?
