Cynthia, sorry about the food colour task, I don't know what's wrong with me last week - for example, I sent emails to myself (by accident) 3 times, not to mention any other stupid things I've done but just to make it fair, thanks for letting me have the points but I'll try to have a meal with the 2 red food things soon!

oh really? I wrote on my review that I thought it was sorta a cross between Twilight and A Great & Terrible Beauty. I didn't actually like Twilight (sorry! to people who do), it was just too adolescent for my taste and too much focus on Bella/Edward that everybody else is just on the background. So I actually liked Blue Bloods better. I'd like to read the 3rd book but am not sure how I'm gonna get my hands on one since it was only released in the US in October. I don't know if I'd ever be able to get my hands on one! (I'm in Australia - I don't even know if they're bringing it out here).
8. For April Fools Day…

4. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Task – Read or listen to a book while you are on a plane, on a train, or in a car (or other mode of transport like a bus/combinations of transportation)
- For this task you can’t, for example, start a book in the airport and finish it on the plane...the book must be read entirely while inside one of those modes of transportation.
- But the plane/train/car etc. does not have to be moving the entire time for it to count – exe. you can start reading the book once you board the plane before it takes off.
??? possibly my first audio (which I am not looking forward to) ..."
Oh, Angela, I've only started listening to audio book a few months ago and I have to say I'm really enjoying it! Just make sure that the book is something that you'd be really interested in, the audio book is a professionaly done one, and you like the reader's voice. The ones I liked so far are People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks & read by Edwina Wren and The Host by Stephanie Meyer & read by Kate Reading. The lastest one I heard was The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho) & read by Jeremy Irons.
Jeane wrote: "Is there anybody who found a book for the award task and is born in 1980?"
Hi Jeane, that's me! :) It was hard since most of them didn't appeal to me! However, just keep in mind that it doesn't have to be the winning book just that the author has to have won an award in 1980. I was looking at Arthur C. Clarke who won Hugo in '80 and William Golding won Booker in 1980. But my choice is Shirley Hazzard (won National Critics Circle Awards in '80) since I already have one of her books (not the winning one) on my tbr.
I hope that helps a bit :)
♡ Eva ♡ wrote: "Bonnie- I was thinking about maybe using The Hummingbird's Daughter. I found it ..."
Hey, Eva, I noticed you have PS I Love You on your tbr. Cecelia Ahern is Irish and pretty much the whole book is set in Ireland?
Hm, how about Black Hawk Down for the military challenge?
I loved the movie - the book should be good? anybody knows?

ps: Is the National Book Critics Circle Award counted as major literary award for this challenge?"
Cynthia, just some Qs, hopefully easy for you to answer ;)
Magician task: I'm assuming since you're accepting HP, The Magician's Apprentice by Trudi Canavan will be acceptable?
Armed Forces task: I'm relying on my husband's advice to read Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. But as he only reads an average of 1 book a year, thought I'd get a second opinion. Is this book acceptable for this task?
Spring Break task: I'm not really planning to go anywhere and haven't been overseas in over a decade! So I'm assuming that I can read something that's located in Australia (where I am)? I'm looking at A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute
Thanks, Cynthia!
and I'm proud to say that 2 out 3 books were out of my physical tbr pile! Terrific categories :)
