i started A Spectacle of Corruption by David Liss the other night. i've really like the other 2 of his that i've read, and this one seems pretty good so far. i'm hoping to get through it before the heavy holiday craziness starts.
i finished Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen and The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig this week.i loved Sugar Queen, it was a bit more realistic than Garden Spells, but both were spectacular stories.
i liked Willig's story, it was odd though. it was historically based, but had lots of modern chic-litish elements to it. i'll probably read the others in the series though, it was a fun read.
i finished Rebel Angels last night. it was OK, not something i'm overly enthusiastic about. i'll read the 3rd one just so that i know how it all ends.
not sure what i'll be picking up next, i've got a busy couple of days in front of me, so we'll see what monday brings.
still working on Rebel Angels. it's ok, i still haven't decided how much i like this Gemma Doyle trilogy.
i have a long weekend coming up, and i'll be busy, but hopefully i can squeeze some time in there to read a bit. i'm hoping to finish this one and move on to another book in my pile by Monday.
i'm more than halfway through The Lace Reader and just found out my book group has to reschedule our meeting about it due to the flu. oh well, i'm really liking the story.
i'll get back to Rebel Angels by the weekend i'm sure, then i should probaly look at my stack and see what i need to read before re-visiting the library again!
i finished I Was Told There'd Be Cake from Sloane Crosley yesterday. i liked it, but i did feel that the essays at the beginning were better than the ones towards the end.
i started Rebel Angels today, and am going to try to pick up The Lace Reader from the library tonight. i forgot that my bi-monthly book club was supposed to read that for this friday, so hopefully i can pick it up and get through it quickly.
i've been slacking on my Goodreads again! however, it was for a good cause....i finished The Dante Club from Matthew Pearl. it was a fantastic read, and is great if you enjoy a little history and literary background to your murder-mystery.
i'm either going to read Rebel Angels or I Was Told There'd Be Cake next. Not sure which one though.
again, it's been awhile since i've been on, and i don't have a whole lot to report. i've started Brideshead Revisited which isn't bad, but slow. i finished Knock Me Off My Feet which was a nice light and fast read. i'm also currently reading Going Topless which is also pretty fast and light.
i picked up a few books over the long weekend with my B&N gift cards from my birthday, so hopefully that will kick start my reading for the next week or two!
i'm heading into my "bad" reading season, so i'll have to sit this one out. however, i LOVE this challenge, so i'd defininetly be interested in joining one after the holidays are over.
it's been ages since i've been on here, life just totally got ahead of me in september. i barely had time to read, let alone get online!
i *finally* finished The Gargoyle last night. i loved this story, and even though i'm not 100% certain that everything in the book was real, or imagined, i thought it was beautifully written, and very engaging.
not sure what i'll pick up next, but i got 2 gift cards to B & N for my birthday, so i'm sure i'll find something. ;)
wow, it's been almost an entire month since i've been able to report anything. september is super busy for me, hopefully i can catch up in the next couple of weeks.
10 books
183 shelves
yikes, it's been over a week since i've been able to get on here, and there were 346 new posts to this thread!
anyway, i'm still working on The Gargoyle. i'm really enjoying it, but i just haven't had a lot of time to read lately. hoping i can finish it in the next few days, i need to start Eat Pray Love for my library book club on Monday.
8 books
174 shelves
i actually got 9 from my last book, pretty good since there were just over 2 pages of shelves to pick from!
i finished The Skin Gods and wasn't too excited by it. not sure i can put a finger on the reason, though.
i started The Gargoyle. totally not what i was expecting, but so far so good.

i really liked this one. hope you are enjoying it!
random question-
looking at the list, there are a lot of children's shelves. do the books (or book) we read for those shelves need to be something lengthier, like an Anne of Green Gables or Harry Potter type book, or can it be something we would read to a child, such as a Dr. Seuss book? my son and I read every night, and I don't count those books as part of my "read" list, so i never thought of using them for a challenge. just wanted to check before I count them for something that i shouldn't!
i'm about 1/4 of the way in to The Skin Gods. it's not bad, but it's been awhile since i've read a police-style mystery, so it's a little hard to get sucked in to. good story though.
