Na noo na noo

1218 A good mystery series that is also crazy funny is the Archie McNally series by Lawrence Sanders/Vincent Lardo. The first is McNally's Secret. They are very funny. If you like dry, sarcastic humor.

1218 I can't wait to read this! Can people please mark spoilers tho, who have read it? I love ghost type stories and paranormal stuff, esp. at this time of year.

1218 Have you liked anything by him? I've tried to get into his stuff before and haven't been able to. But you hear so many good things about him, and I love books set in New England.

1218 You can choose to read any group read you like, and there are discussion threads already started for those Cay. And you can discuss other books you're reading too! If you visit the group's main page, and take a look at the main folder headings, it'll give you an idea of what's where. It won't take you long to get the hang of it. Welcome. This is a great group!

1218 This one isn't aimed at YA audiences, but it's a really great book:

1218 Welcome Libby!

They call me the pusher. Here's some great ones. Click on the titles to see descriptions of the book:

1. I Am the Messenger and

2. The Book Thief both by Markus Zusak

I recommend you read Messenger first, then Thief. They are both classified as YA (Young Adult) lit. Although they both could easily crossover to the adult shelves.

3. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. If you're looking for a feel-good read, something that feels like a black and white film where you just want to move in with the characters, this one's for you.

4. The Secret Life of Bees - this is about strong women, and the Civil Rights movement. Powerful, and beautifully written from the point of view of a 14-15 year-old girl.

5. The Count of Monte Cristo - if you're looking for a long book that will captivate you completely and totally, you've found it! And it moves so fast, you won't even believe you've read about 1300 pages when you're done. A thrilling read!

Those are some of my favorites from the past year. Never fear Libby - you'll never run out of book recommendations in this group.
