I know it isn't even the new year but to get you all thinking about it - has this year been filled with many good books?
Are you going to achieve your goal if you set one and what kinds of books have you read over the year, is there a trend do you think?
What new authors have you discovered? What books have you loved and any real stinkers?
How has it been different from the year before?
How long have you been an member of GR, of TNBBC or other groups and has this effected your reading - if so how?
I expect you all to write me a 2500 word essay!

Yay, I'm finally reading this...
Actually I'm not quite hooked into it yet unfortunately, I'm only 150 pages in though and it took me about that much before I got pulled into the first book... but something is bugging me so much I just have to complain.
*************
Salander and Zalenchenko or whatever his name is are in the same hospital and they are in rooms that are only just up the corridor from each other.
The police suspect him for being behind the 3 murders and for being a russian spy etc. Salander tried to cave his head in with an axe so she is being charged with attempted murder.
There is NO police protection there. Salander is under arrest should she not have a police officer there? Should Zala be able to wonder around on crutches and go into her room unquestioned? Should they be in the same hospital or ward?
That man Gullberg should in no way have been able to get into that ward and shoot Zala, in no possible way should that have even been possible.
It's just so stupid!
Cashmere makes me think of spicy foods... yum yum and makes me feel warm.maligned - I like that word. To speak unfavourable about. It isn't really a nice word in that it isn't positive but I like how it is said when used. Almost with pity.
Oh cashmere is nice. So is the material but the word itself on it's own...cashmere just such lovely sounds.
I know what you mean Mary - I think I say it quite a bit. It's mainly because I try to avoid saying 'cool' so I'll say 'amazing!' instead or something.I have to agree with disliking 'flaccid' gross! That makes my skin shiver. Makes my tongue feel a bit dirty.
The Noughties are the 2000's... the noughties as we'll soon be moving into double figures in the millenium!I miss the 90's it had such a nicer ring to it. I hate the idea of saying twenty-ten yuck!
Anyway... a snark is usually someone being quite snarky - sarcastic, mean!
Ah, I love the word 'bother' as in 'oh botherations!' it's so inoffensive but can still be used in the same way as other light swear words. (Buggerations)I love the words:
Sumptuous - it just has a nice sound when you say it out.
Contraption is one of my favourite words.
Confound - as in confounded contraptions or confound it!
Pish, tish, posh - silly words that just make me smile when they're used. Especially pish.
Ugh Russel Brand represents all that is wrong with this country... okay that's a bit over the top he's possibly a very clever bloke but ugh. He just isn't funny or interesting and his hair... ugh.
