Maria...
I liked the book, but I didn't love it. I agree, I thought the nurse was a very great and brave character, however I thought the rest of the story was slightly boring.
Reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. It's just ok for me. I thought it would be alot better. I should finish it up today though.
Robyn wrote: "The next on my list isThe Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Has anybody read this one and, if so, did you enjoy it? I have heard good things."I wasn't sure I would like this book, but was pleasantly surprised. I liked the format and thought that it was a sweet story. Really enjoyed it! I hope you do too!
Arun wrote: "I am with Follett's "Pillars of the Earth"....any opinions folks ??"I really liked Pillars of the Earth. Obviously very long, but really worth reading.

Just finished Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. It started off good, but I ended up not liking it much at all. Her books are too similar (this one screamed My sister's Keeper), and there were parts of the book that I hated and just didn't understand their purpose.Back to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
Lori wrote: "Jenna, at under 10 bucks, how can he complain? You made out sooo well :)Im happy to see you have Odd Thomas. Such a great series! I hope you like him!"

I was so excited to find so many that I have been wanting to read. My fiance will kill me for bringing more unread books into the house. :)
Just finished Ella Minnow Pea and really liked it. Overall silly plot, but very sweet, entertaining, and fun.I think I am now going to start High Fidelity by Nick Hornby.
Started reading Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. It is cute so far. Interesting read. I'm also still reading House of Leaves. This is a hard book to read...the footnotes are making me nuts!
Dara wrote: "Has anyone read Julie & Julia? I put off seeing the movie because we all know that the book is always better...but I have to say, this one is pretty slow going for me. I have been reading it for ..."Dara,
I read Julie and Julia a few months ago and I liked it. However, I can see how you think it is slow. I actually thought this was a rare occasion of a movie being better than the book.
I have given up on Atonement. I am just completely bored with it. I think I am going to start either House of Leaves or Never Let Me Go.

As far as Muramaki goes, I really liked Kafka on the Shore. Very strange, but very intriguing novel. Highly recommend it.
I am currently reading 2 books. Still trekking through The Poisonwood Bible...this book is really rough going for me. I can't seem to read more than 3 pages at a time.
I also started Atonement. Not far into it enough to form an opinion yet.
I am on page 44 and am struggling to pick it up again. I've been reading it for a week or so and this is pretty sad. I can usually have a book finished in a few days so this one is very slow going. Since most of you seem to enjoy it, I will stick with it for a bit longer and hopefully it will pick up for me.
Went to my library book sale today and found a few that I have been wanting to read for awhile.Choke - Chuck Palahniuk
Sarah's Key - Tatiana de Rosnay
The Prince of Tides - Pat Conroy
How to Be Good - Nick Hornby
Prep - Curtis Sittenfeld
Still reading the Poisonwood Bible which is very slow going. I think I am also going to start Shutter Island. I got that out of the library finally and have been dying to read it.
Started a bit early with the Poisonwood Bible. I tried to read this years ago, but never got far into it. Don't remember anything about it so I am looking forward to picking it up again.
Lori wrote: "Jenna, About a Boy is a great novel. Have you seen the movie? "Lori, I don't think I have seen the movie. If I have, I don't remember a thing about it. Hugh Grant is in it, right? Is the movie any good?
