I read a book that is set in Macau, once a Portuguese colony, now a "Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China". There are two of those, the other is Hong Kong. I saw we could count Hong Kong as a seperate country, can we do the same for Macau?

*Angela - I think you've missed my last few posts - you have me at 131 shelves and 9 books"
I think I got your shelves.

Some of the books I read are translated to English and I can't help but wonder what's being lost in translation."I read a lot of books in translation, but that doesn't really bother me. When a book is disappointing I do blame it on the translator though.
And of course it's never too late to learn a new laguage. Just pick a language where you know you like the literature to keep you motivated.

I read books in Dutch and English. Right now I'm also reading a book in German by Herta Müller because my library didn't have a translation but my German is nowhere near perfect so I'm probably missing details.
Weird. My map still has that function. I'm not very good with technichal things so I have no idea what might be the problem.
I almost always listen to music when I'm reading, but I try to listen to music with lyrics in a language different from the book I'm reading so I won't be distracted.

The shadow of the wind must have been a real disappointment ;)
