Amy - I don't think you can count The Giving Tree, since it's not over 100 pages.

Is this for the U.K.? It was National Volunteer Week in the U.S. last week, actually.

1218 Tracy - It's actually noted on the first page:

***Read 2 books by an author who writes under two different names. For example, Nora Roberts also writes under the name J.D. Robb, so you would read a book by J.D. Robb and a book by Nora Roberts.***For this task ONE book can have been read prior to APRIL 15TH but the other must have been read after that date."

Hope that helps!

1218 Carol - I like short chapters, too, but I'm really interested in the subject matter, so it's not really bothering me at this point (I haven't gotten too far, though, since I haven't had much time to read). I read Dead Until Dark recently and found it to be a fun, quick read, but it was more "romance novel" than I'd expected.

I'm not saying these types of things can't happen to people, but it seemed to me that Lamb just randomly threw any sort of difficulty he could think of at Delores. The way it was written just didn't seem believable. In addition, I never warmed to the character of Delores for some reason. It's been years since I read this book, though, so it's difficult to remember everything.
