1218 No I don't think you have to have read any of the others - I hadn't and I never really got the feeling I was missing anything. From what I've read elsewhere, there are some characters that do show up in previous novels but it isn't like a continuing story or anything. I think he just likes to set his books in the same fictional town.

1218 I just finished Charles de Lint's "Someplace to be Flying". Shape-shifting birds is what that's all about. I didn't like it that much, but if you are into shapeshifting birds then I think you would probably dig it.
