1218 Yea, I like the Shakespeare idea too then we can watch a play (on dvd) or adaptation of it (these are available at libraries too).

1218 Read a book with title containing a body part (eg. hand, nail, finger, toe, etc)

Read a book on the history of the city / area you are living now and then go to a meeting about the local history
(my library has organised this sort of events but I've never been so this will be a good one to do! they're usually free of charge too)

1218 Song of the Lionness series by Tamora Pierce, I found that I re-read the whole series every few years. Especially love the first book

Pellinor series by Alisson Croggon, it's a newer series than Song of the Lionness but I just absolutely love the first book (The Gift - Aust. ed or The Naming - o/s ed.), I re-read it a few times last year and this year whilst awaiting the final book which was released mid '08 (HOORAY!)

HP series (mainly books 1-4)

Obernewtyn series by Alison Carmody - again I find myself re-reading it every few years (the newest books just been released... it took a while)

I just realised all of the above are YA fantasy, hhhm... guess I never really did grow up ;p
I finally got a copy of the Song of the Lioness series recently - saves me from borrowing from the library every few years, lol

Julianne, I was thinking of suggesting some challenge with the beach in mind but considering is winter for most of TNBBC members, this soo wouldn't work :(

But at least we celebrate Christmas at the same time! (except it's usually hot boiling days)
oh, as an aside thing we have this thing people do in winter in Oz - Christmas in July, lol

1218 Maybe we can extend the 'read a book with christmas in the title' to include angel, miracle, jesus, birth, shepherd etc in the title (as choice)

Read a book with any of the following in the title: christmas, angel, miracle, jesus, birth, shepherd, manger...

1218 I used to just used post it notes - that way if I have to stop in the middle of a page, I can stick it there and know where I actually am!

BUT, a couple of months ago, I found this bookmark (among my old books) that I've had since highschool (my 10th year reunion was last weekend!) - so I've had it for over 10 yrs now.

It's metal (gold)- flat where it goes between the pages and then it curves over the spine and has my school emblem on it :p

1218 I was expecting it to be scary - I remembered reading Frankenstein (quite a while ago) and I found it more scary than this. Maybe cuz I was reading it during a stormy night and I only had one light on in the whole house! It's all about atmosphere... Anyway, the only part I found really exciting was near the beginning (of Harker's travel to the castle and when he went investigating around the castle) after that, it was pretty boring. I also couldn't seem to get the image from the movies away from my head whilst I was reading so that probably didn't help.
