1218 I completed 10 point task #4. Read a book by an author who was born in March, April, or May. I read Dean and Me:A Love Story by Jerry Lewis who was born March 16th, 1926.

The book was really good. It's sort of written in a way that makes you feel like Jerry Lewis is just sitting next to you talking about the good times. He jumps around, makes inside jokes, gets lost in his thoughts, the way a regular person would when telling a story. It was interesting to see how they became Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and then how Dean went on to be a big part of the Rat Pack. For example, I always thought of Sinatra as the leader of the rat pack, but according to this, Sinatra idolized Dean for his swagger and confidence, something that Sinatra had to try really hard to emulate. Anywho, its very good.

Also for 5 point task #1. Read a Science Fiction OR Fantasy Novel. I read Capt. Hook The Adventures of a Notorious Youth by JV Hart. It is a story about Captain Hook's childhood. It's good but it took me a while to get through. I had to keep putting it down and moving on to other books. Better for middle school aged children.

1218 I finished two books this week, both of which I recommend.

For 5 point task #5 - Read a book about sacrifice, I read Peony in Love by Lisa See.

For 10 point task #7 - Read a book recommended by your mom, I read a book that my mom sent me here in Korea called Mr. Darcy's Daughters by Elizabeth Aston. It's as you can guess, about Darcy and Elizabeth's daughters after Pride and Prejudice ends. It was annoying at times because you wonder how in the heck they managed to have such obnoxious children, but still a good book.

If she tells me some books she wants, I can go to the one here in Seoul and see if they have it, or check at the PX bookstore. I won't allow a fellow reader to go without books while in Korea. :) I can then mail them to her. Or take a visit to Pusan. There's a base there I'm pretty sure.

I got through half of it and was like "Why does this sound so familiar?" and then predicted the rest of it. I think I must've read it in high school and forgotten about it. But it's good, I'll have to get the next in the series, see if I read that too. I am a recovering vampire freak. Or maybe I'm just a closet vampire freak. It was good though.

I get most books online from BN. Also, if she comes to Seoul, there's a bookstore that has an entire English language section. It's called Kyobo. She should look it up. If she takes the subway to it, the entrance to the store is right there on the subway line, and right in the front on the left is the English language section. Plus on post is a library. Is she on a post?

1218 Hayes you should definately read it. :) It's very good. She shares a lot of stuff that happened to her that you wouldn't believe. And her mom may have been the most beautiful woman in existance. And her father's reaction to her getting pregnant was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read.

1218 I completed a few tasks while I was up at the DMZ this past week.

5 Pt task #6. In Honor Of Women’s History Month, I read Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou. Soooo good, I highly recommend it to every woman. Its a bunch of autobiographical stories about what made her the woman she is today and her advice to women of today. I know that I am now going to try to become a better woman because of it.

25 Pt task #1. KAREN’S TASK - As we are all totally completely addicted to GR (Goodreads)...
I read for G- Glass Houses by Rachel Caine and for R- Reading Like a Writer A Guide for People Who Love Books and for Those Who Want to Write Them

1218 25Pt task #5. BONNIE’S TASK - Read a book outside your normal genre(s). Example: Bonnie usually reads YA, fantasy, nonfiction and classics so she'd have to read short stories, plays, mysteries, etc.

I read:
Chasing Harry Winston - Lauren Weisberger which is a "chick lit". It drove me absolutely crazy. I wanted to smack these 3 females, especially one of them who was ridiculously selfish and obnoxious. Definately not gonna continue to read "chick lit" books. \\

25 point task #7 - Read a book you've seen referenced in a movie: The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas (was in Slumdog Millionaire. I used this book for the last challenge too, but it's prob my #2 favorite book so its an easy read for me, plus I read it in English this time)

1218 Phew. I just finished in one sitting The Stolen Child A Novel by Keith Donahue for 15 point task # 8. Get To Know The Author. I didn't know which task I was gonna use it for, but after I finished, I googled it and found an interesting interview with the author on Bookbrowse, so it fit that task perfectly.

1218 Eva, it's Q & A by Vikas Swarup
1218 I'm reading The Stolen Child A Novel right now and one of the characters is named Aniday. I really like it. I've been pronouncing it "ennidae" or "annidae" but I'm afraid if I named my kid that, people would say "anyday". I like it though.
