Linda- Thank you so much for the suggestion! I haven't heard of that one, I'll get my hands on a copy. I really appreciate the suggestion, I need something good to read! :)

Yuliya- Yes, exactly! I think you're right about it being more of a kid's read: I hope your daughter enjoys it. :)

1218 I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children last night, and thought it was just okay. It really had potential, but didn't get there. Today I'm starting The Sisters Brothers.

I agree with you about One Day, Karen. The more I've thought about that book, the more I've found myself to be annoyed with it. You're right about the naivety, and Dexter seemed so not worth waiting for to me. This book just didn't pull at me emotionally at all, I felt so indifferent and just didn't care what happened to the characters. I found it really unsatisfying overall. Blah.

1218 I recently finished Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson, and I quite enjoyed it. It was a really quick read, and it held my interest the whole time.

Now I'm starting Chocolat by Joanne Harris. :)

Yeah, I wasn't super crazy about Dexter either, which I think was a big reason I didn't like the book as much as I could have. I liked Emma, but didn't connect with anyone tons. Let me know what you think as you get further in. :)
