I've ended the voting for the December mini-read winner. The winner is:
Touch the Dark by Karen Chance
We will start reading the series in December. We will also be finishing up the were-cat series with Prey by Rachel Vincent.
December is a busy month for most people. So, instead of having another round of voting and nominations for which series to begin in January, Jess and I decided to take the top 3 runners up from this months voting, and let everyone choose from them. I've posted a poll for that. I'll send out invites to everyone, or you can access it by clicking on the link for group polls. The choices are:
Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
Born of Night by Born of Night
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Has anyone read the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series by Rick Riordan? I've seen the series around quite a bit, but never paid any attention to it. Then when I went to see New Moon, there was a movie trailer for a movie being made based on the first book. Very intriguing idea!
Just wondering if it's worth checking out!
lol, yeah, more of the ick feeling than the hotty feeling. lol. I actually do think that in other things Pattison could be a good actor. I mean, he was completely different in Harry Potter than he's been in these movies. It must just be how he thinks Edward is supposed to be. But I agree, I never read his character as being anything like that! Yeah, a bit broody, but he also knew how to have fun!
I think Lautner does a lot better job acting than Pattison does. Does he know how to do ANY emotion besides serious and broody?
So, just saw the movie tonight! Tons better than Twilight.
When I first read the books, I was a complete Edward fan. Maybe that's because at the time the only supernatural books I was really interested in were about Vamps. I really hadn't gotten into the whole Werewolf stuff yet. But now, I like Jacob better! Plus, honestly, I don't like the books as much now as I first did. When I try to go back and reread them, they kinda drive me crazy.
Bella - I HATE the way that she acts in New Moon. I hated it in the book, and I hated it in the movie. I mean, yeah, you're boyfriend dumped you. Be sad, be upset, be angry, whatever. But 5 months later and you still can't even cope enough to act like a normal human being? You need therapy. I mean, we've all had one time or another when we've felt like our heart has been literaly ripped out of our chests. But eventually, we wake up and go on with life!!! I really don't like the message that portrays to all of the young girls that read these books. If your boyfriend dumps you, stop living your life and just become reckless and dangerous! Smart!
Jacob was EXTREMELY fun to look at in this movie! Wow! lol, and I don't think I've laughed so hard as towards the end of the movie when Edward doesn't have a shirt on. I mean, we've been watching an extremely buff and gorgeous Jacob, plus a handful of other very well muscled werewolves walk around without shirts on. Fun to look at! And then here comes Edward. Pasty white and very little muscle. I'm not a huge Pattison fan anyways, but the two of them in comparison? Just made me laugh! Come on Bella, how in the world do you pick white, hard and cold over tan, buff and hot? :) Yeah, I am now officially a Jacob convert!
I think I'll go for the dragon ones then. I already have copies of them on pdf, and I don't have the Pride ones.
Thanks! Didn't know if there was a particular order that the series should be read in.
lol, not the outcome that I was expecting! I don't know, I just hope that it's not really the last book of the series. I really like Harper. But I know that someone mentioned maybe a spin-off series with Manfred as the main character. That'd be fun, and you'd likely see bits of Harper and Toliver througout it.
I know that Richelle Mead has a twitter. I don't follow her on there, I do on facebook. But she mentions Twitter all the time
Yeah, it does. I mean, what's the likelyhood that The High Queen would ever attack the Summer Court while Seth and Aislinn are dating?
Thanks for all of the nominations! I'll be posting the poll soon, so I'm going to go ahead and close the thread.
BTW, Jennifer - The Hunger Games series is one of my favorites! If it doesn't win, I'd still recommened that you read them!
So, I just finished Go Fetch!. Even better than the first book. And only the fact that I should have gone to sleep 3 hours ago is stopping me from starting Here Kitty, Kitty!! What a way to end a book making you want to immediatly pick up the next one!!!
Thanks Jess for telling me about this author!
Just remember, this thread is just for nominations. We'll be posting the polls for you to vote on Monday!
SO I just finished the first book of the Mangus Pack series. Pretty good! It was a complete guilty pleasure book, of course, but I enjoyed it. I just wish that they had maybe gone into more details about the pack set up, and about being turned and everything.
I just started reading that League series by Kenyon. Seems pretty good. Very different from her Dark-Hunter series!
Joy, we'll be posting the polls on Monday for everyone to vote. Right now this is just for people to nominate series! Do you have a series that you've been wanting to read but haven't yet that you'd like to nominate?
