1210 Blade runner vs. Do Andriods

Alright so perhaps my award title was slightly overstated.

The mercer thing seemed pretty central to the theme of the book - mercer=mercy and empathy being central to Decker conflict with his retiring of andriods and ties in with the electric pets.

Mostly, though, Ridley Scott makes it pretty unambiguous though the unicorn dream sequences and Gaff's origami unicorn that Decker is an andriod himself. That's a pretty big twist, methinks.

PLus the book doesn't have a climatic fight scene. In the book, the climax comes in deckers finding of a frog out in the wilderness that he thinks is real and will notonly represent his salvation but make him rich.

(excuse me while i nerd-out)

1210 My vote for worst would have to be Paycheck. It was such a fun, gimmickly story....I don't think the filmmakers were fans.

's long as were on the topic of PKD movie adaptations, Blade Runner gets my vote for Best. PKD Movie That Really Has Nothing Whatsoever To Do With The Book.

1210 Hi all
I'm a big PKD fan. Current favorite would have to be Martian Time Slip, if only for the last paragraph. I have too many of his books and i'm always trying to get more people to read his books.

What i like best about PKD are his characters, thier motivations, and that he doesn't spend anytime explaining his technology to you. Like the mood-enhancer thing at the begining of "Do Andriods Dream...". Or even the whole mercer/pets thing.
