Screamers is one of the worst movies ever made, do not see it. I forget the name of the story it is based on, the plot involves human-looking cyborgs- you can only tell who is human and who is not by the way they scream
Here are films I know of that are directly based on PKD books, or that incorporate his world-view into the film:
Blade Runner
Total Recall
Minority Report
A Scanner Darkly
I can't think of the others right now. Films heavily influenced by Dick:
The Terminator series
The Matrix series
I'll also go a step further and say that I think William Gibson and the cyber-punk movement would not have happened without PKD.
so, can anyone think of other films I missed and does anyone have a PKD adaption they just hate? Or know of anything else inspired by or based on PKD.
I have a bio of PKD called "I Am Alive and You are Dead" by Emmanuel Carrere.
Three Stigmata was the first Dick book I read, I was immediately hooked.
My favorite Dick book is Time Out of Joint.
I love his short stories too, maybe we could do one story one month or something.
