10915 Thanks JJ, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas also. : )
10915 Here's my nominations. I haven't read any of them, but they look interesting.

Blue Moon Rising by Simon R. Green
The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle
The Mabinogion Tetralogy by Evangeline Walton
The Hound and the Falcon by Judith Tarr

10915 I would say it's supernatural since it involves creatures such as vampires and werewolves.

10915 If anyone wants to add me they can. It would be nice to have more friends who also enjoy reading fantasy books.

10915 That's good news. They've been talking about it for a couple of years now, I'm glad they finally decided to do it. I think HBO does a good job with their serial shows. I enjoyed their adaptation of the Sookie Stackhouse books (True Blood).

10915 I agree. I enjoyed the books from Phedre's point of view much more.

10915 I liked the first four books in the series, but then the quality of writing seemed to go downhill for me. I think I quit reading around book six or seven.

I have to agree about the women characters. They seemed ok at first, but then became really annoying as the story went on.

10915 I have to admit I am swayed by the cover art. I don't care for cheesy fantasy art, so sometimes won't buy a book becasue of it.
Neil Gaiman (49 new)

10915 My favorites by Neil Gaiman are Stardust and Neverwhere. I also recently read The Graveyard Book which was good too.

10915 I would classify it as historical fiction or supernatural. I think if you like history and the story of Dracula you might want to keep reading. Otherwise, maybe it's just not your type of book.
10915 Has anyone here read The Children of Hurin? I have it on my to be read pile, but haven't gotten to it yet.

10915 I like Patricia McKillip's book covers. The artist Kinuko Y. Craft usually does them, and the artwork is stunning.
