You know how it is, if it doesn't fit with "regular americana" it must be weird! My mother-in-law was accused of being a stripper when they returned to the US (The Air Force had them stationed in Turkey) and she tried to teach bellydancing classes. She ignored the morons and taught anyway, and was pretty successful. So dance on! And good luck at your booksigning!
Awesome! My mother-in-law was a bellydancer in Turkey. In my opinion, it's an underappreciated art form.

I don't think I can stop at one - in fact, I bought the second installment yesterday! It's really good, and the story is unique and well-done. I think there's 6 in the series?
I'm reading Kushiel's Dart - only about 200 pages in (which isn't much for a 900 page book) but I'm getting pretty caught up in it. Also on deck are Assassin's Apprentice and City of Bones.
I just finished this morning, and I'm quite impressed overall. Neil Gaiman has a great sense of the fantastical. I do wish some of the characters were a bit more developed, but I also got the sense he was leaving the door open for a sequel. Has anyone seen the BBC series? I'm thinking I'll order it.
I think it's wonderful that a great fantasy series such as this is being made into a movie. I can't wait to see some production stills.
I'm about halfway through the book, and finding it quite enjoyable so far. So far, I'm thinking the movie is a very close adaptation, but then it would be as William Goldman wrote both.
I love these choices - The Princess Bride is an old favorite and I've heard great things about Crown Conspiracy
