You didn't mention Robert Jordan, and his are definitely in both the genre and page-count you're looking for. Sara Douglass and Elizabeth Haydon would be a couple of others you might want to check out.

Thanks very much, Brenda. Let's see... the promotion process.... err... that's something of a work in progress for me ;-). A good friend of mine pointed out a while ago that I'm the worst at self-promotion he's ever met. Generally I try to hit as many cons as I can, set up signings, and work on the internet. There's not a lot of organization or method to my particular brand of madness :-).
