10915 I read the first series. I honestly forgot that there were others. I liked it, I'll have to pick up the other ones.

10915 1) Where's the appeal in reading a 'never ending tale'?
For one, it's not never ending. It's ending with the next book. For two, a good book can never be too long and a bad one can never be too short.

2) At some point, (11 books in this series?) did you ever feel like, "gee I wonder if this guy even knows where he's going & how he'll end it?"
No, because he had said several times that he knew how he was going to end it. All questions will be answered in time.

3) Did you ever feel as if the person is just trying to see just how many people will keep buying the books, regardless of the fact that there is no 'point'. (Point: the end of a line).
No.

4) How did you feel when you realized the poor dude passed-on without having had the book ended?
I was sad. For him, for his family. But I also knew that he had it all planned out in case that happened. His family knew the story and some of it had already been written. I knew he wouldn't just never end it.

5) Would Lord of the Rings been better if Frodo just wandered around over and over and over for a million pages? I think not. More isn't necessarily better. Very few fine dining restaurants offer buffet style eating.
LoTR would have been better if it had all the fluff cut out about who was wearing what and what order of the boat they were sitting in. And no one in WOT wanders around. Except the Tinkers.

6) Did you ever wonder - has he just been writing to sell more books and make more cash?
A story is a story. And you write until it's been told. Sometimes it takes longer to tell the story. Some authors do write JUST for money, I do not think that Mr. Jordan was one of them.

10915 OK I'm finally getting around to posting this. I've been a member here for awhile and just keep putting this off. I'm Sabrina, I live in Omaha and I'm from Chicago. I've always loved the fantasy genre since I was a kid. I remember times as a little kid my dad getting my brother and me up at 4AM to watch The Hobbit cartoon on PBS. Back in the days before most people could afford a VCR!

Fantasy I've Read:

Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (my fav book of all time)
Wheel of Time (I'm currently re-reading this in preparation for Book 12! I'm half way through The Dragon Reborn right now)
Game of Thrones
Mistborn
Lord of the Rings (I actually did not enjoy reading these books but I like the movies)

I would also like to read The Sword of Truth series after I'm done with WoT. I've been watching The Legend of the Seeker TV show and I do like it, though I'm guessing the books are better.
