I have been a lurker for some time now it has just ended up being a time issue. I am hoping to remedy that though and be more active in the future. I don't think anything is wrong with the site.
Started Girl With A Tattoo last night and whipped through the story to page 200 in no time. Great read with interesting characters. I will be up late tonight reading on...
No I haven't JoAnn are all his the same style? A bit overdone. And over the top.
I am loving Girl with a Tattoo though. I was on page 200 without even realizing I was that far into it. Have you read it?
Thanks ladies sorry I haven't been online lately I have been letting house go and my mom (I am a SAH helper to my folks) so I had to get caught up so I can get back to reading. I will be glad when I can put the yard to bed as well.
Deborah I could have been mistaken. I did look through my Whartons and did not see August in there so I must have been thinking of something else.
JoAnn I did quit smoking and then I started again sigh. I am going to give it another go soon. What I have done is cram hobbies in - reading and stitching and crafty things. I have cut back a lot but not done with it yet.
Well I just finished South of Broad and ended up not liking it. Wish I hadn't bought it it was not really worth it even with my BN discount. I was diappointed. Am going to start Girl with the Dragon Tattoo tonight though I think that will pull me up from the disappointment - at least from what I hear.
I am reading South of Broad and liking it. I love his style and the book moves right along haven't been bogged down yet.
I just finished That Old Cape Magic by Russo and did quite a bit of laughing. True a couple of times the joke got old but I still gave it 4 stars.
Hi new here. I usually would have put an exclamation after that :)
I do think I read that Wharton book as well but the title is lost in my addled brain. There is a book Snow in August that I remember reading that was then one of my top picks for the year.
Oh my intro - Name is Sharon, 53, Texas, will read most anything though horror brings about bad dreams and fantasy has not taken yet...
I am going to be nervous with you guys with English majors I have forgotten everything I was ever taught by my excellent high school teacher and never went to college at all except to take a couple of classes for enjoyments sake. The English class I took where you had to dissect lit was a nerve wracking time for me that still makes me shudder at the comments written on my papers. Not real good at expressing and critiquing.
I have the rise of Theo Roosevelt and the next in the series too. Just needing to get to it. Right now reading John Adams. I am going to read several books about presidents and other men in history. I did read Barbara Walter's memoir and I enjoyed it. Also Katherine Graham.
Lemon fluff sounds good I would have liked it just because of the name!
I have been remiss in posting life got in the way for awhile but I am back to it now.
Have church today then I think I will read a bit. Lazy day today.
Sorry I haven't been around much since joining. Will be around more now I just had some things going on.
Today is my first day to quit smoking. Wish me luck. I am on the patch and zyban so should be good to go. I am already exercising every day and have just lost 40 pounds so I thought you know doing all that and still smoking sheesh how dumb.
I am temping today and will be the only one in the office so taking Fiorina's book to finish and a cozy read. I won't get to read much this weekend as my daughter and two friends are coming in...
I have the Berg book on request at the library. Her last one disappointed me though. I also have Picoult's book and she is always a good read. Right now I am reading The Ten Year Nap which is a great little novel. I can remember being in that predicament of career or raise children and the author really has it down being a SAH mom...
Just started The Ten Year Nap and sure am enjoying it. I remember having a good career going and then finding myself unable to stay away from my daugther too. It becomes otherworldly but really who you are basically. I can really empathize with the characters and it is well written. This is my first book by Wolitzer great writer...
I am still on Truman but am going to take time with it as it is very intense politically and I want to be able to go into a different world too!
Right now I am delving into my non fiction stash that has been growing for a few years now. Am reading Truman by David McCullough. It's a big one but great reading he was quite the character.
