10 Isn't it interesting - when Dali painted this, the New Man was coming from the North American continent. If he were painting it today I wonder whether it would be the same.

10 Fascinating photos Hector. I cannot imagine the minds that developed the machine (nor the hands that did the wiring). There are some interesting links on the photo site as to the purpose to which this will be put, in case anyone reading this is unaware of it.

10 Please have a look at the article below: -

Several years ago, at an advanced age, I was backpacking for several weeks in Thailand and noticed the beginnings of the Tesco-Lotus development in communities along the Mekong and far from Bangkok. Even at that time I was concerned by the impact that this would have on traditional Thai society. It appears that the might of the multi-national is using any legal means available to quash opinions against this. Particulary interesting because there are a few communities in the UK where local activism and opinion has kept Tesco out.

10 Th Guardian has been publishing excerpts from Jonathan Steele's book about the Iraq war over the past three days - although slightly on a different tack from the above I believe you will find them interesting. The links are below:

10 Hector,

Since I'm not familiar with this 'life without parole' category I'd be quite interested in knowing what sort of crimes were committed. Do you have any information on this?

Thanks
