1 It sounds like you might be at the add-a-friend page where it invites friends from your regular email contacts to join GR. Or else it checks to see if your email contacts are already on here. I can't remember which way it works. Is it your regular email and password you're entering? You should be able to just skip that and enter the site.

1 I found it right away.

1 Very fun. Thanks!

1 My mom said she hasn't gotten anything for a few days, and I'm about 98% sure I've added to-reads in that time. I'll tentatively say they're working.

Thanks again, and thanks from my mom! She tried not to show it too much, but she's glad she doesn't have to wade through my to-reads anymore!

1 I have exclusive to-read, owned-to-read, and borrowed-to-read shelves. If my friends decide they don't want to see my to-reads, will the system realize that the variants should be kept out too?

1 Isee this is available already. I just sent out an email to my family, telling them how to avoid my to-reads. Thanks again, Otis!

1 I would like it to stay on the page I'm on rather than going back to page 1 also.
1 I'd like it to show immediately also.

1 I'm not sure if this is a bug. I'll report it just in case.

I use my groups tab to keep up with my groups. I have one secret group. If I just click on the name of the group to go straight to the group home page, I have to re-enter my password. However, if I just click on the red "2 new," I can get into the group and do whatever I want without entering a password at all. I'm not complaining, but this just doesn't make sense to me, so I thought I'd report it in case something is broken.

1 It sounds like you can leave them in your feed and the friends who DON'T want to see the to-reads can just turn the notification off on their end.

We do have this, if you mean a group read. On your group home page, click the "view" link under the "currently reading" book and you'll see who's currently reading it. If you mean just any book in general, I don't think we have that, although I like the idea.

At the very, very, very bottom right corner of any GR screen is a tiny gray little help link. It should have good beginner info. Here's a direct link for you:

http://www.goodreads.com/help

On the group page having a list for the biggest groups on goodreads, the most active, in addition to the new and recently updated groups.

I would think those overlap to an extent. The most active will frequently show up on the recently updated group list. The biggest are probably some of the most active, so they'll show up there too.

1 Thank you so much, Otis! This was at the top of my wishlist for changes/improvements to the site!

They do receive a percentage of the cost. I don't remember how much.

1 I'm about 99% sure that the answer is no. It's been decided that if we could keep track of that, some of us might start pestering the people who turn us down. I think. I'm sure someone else will know more definitely than I do.

1 I don't care whether I control my own feed or whether my mom controls what she sees. I just want to keep her happy! :-)

But I know the last time this came up, Becky had books that she was sharing with a few close friends and didn't want the rest of us to see. I'm fine with that. If a friend keeps a review/book from me here or there, it's no big deal. I respect that everyone might not want to share everything. If they stop sharing anything, I'll just delete them from my friend list, like Amanda said.

Not just a blanket 'nothing I post in forums' for example, but so I could have stuff I post in forums turning up most of the time, but when something's particularly inane I could just delete it from my feed and no one gets pestered."

I think you can already do that from your profile page. I have all my comment feeds turned off, so I'm not sure. But I think you can go to your profile page, look for the comment you want to delete, and click the x out to the right of it. The easiest thing would probably be to try to remember to check or uncheck the "add to my update feed" box under the comment box as you post.

1 I like the look of it too! Thanks, Michael!

I saw the same thing as vicki when I checked out the bookswap books, right down to the numbers--I had 8 and my friend had 8. I actually have 0.

1 I thought about the ad. I'll try to pay attention and see if the same one is showing every time. On the screenshot I got, the macular degeneration ad was showing. I have seen it a lot today, so it might be that one.
