1 I like the new format. :)

1 Yes, I should clarify that the 'add a friend' button in profiles is still not working. The indirect way was my work-around for it.

1 I was the friend who tried to friend Abigail. The button doesn't actually work; I went to the 'friend of a friend' add page and went that route.

I suppose the most frustrating part of that exercise is that you don't know if a request is sent, or if it's possible to send more than one request (which could be annoying).

I figured it was just a bug due to the new style rollout...Cheers, Xysea

1 Yeah, I knew that. Unfortunately, I was hoping to remain public for other users and still have a lurk mode - if I chose.

Thanks,
Xy

1 Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I want to know

(a) Do we have this option, because I can't find it, and;

(b) If not, can we have this option?

Sometimes, I just want to come online to Goodreads to write reviews, complete librarian work or update stuff and don't necessarily want to appear as 'Online Now.'

Can someone help? Thanks!

1 Yes. I try to avoid it myself, and keep the discourse (however the disagreement falls) to civil levels. No name calling, etc.

I think adults can agree to disagree with respect and intelligence.

1 Ironically, for me, very view of my IRL friends read. My boyfriend does, my family does, my kid does - but a lot of my IRL friends haven't cracked a book, other than a self-help one, in ages.

Talk about your literary oasis! I would read these great books and sometimes have no one to talk about it with, other than the aforementioned and you can't talk about books all the time! Or can you? Hmmm...

Anyway, I love Goodreads. It's fantastic. It's second biggest draw for me is the 'to-read' list feature. I used to think of books I'd want to read, or hear a recommendation from a colleague or an acquaintance - or even the NYT. Sometimes I'd write it down, sometimes not. Invariably, they were forgotten. Goodreads has taken care of that for me, and I am eternally grateful.

So, thanks again. All your kudos are well-deserved!

1 Yay! You know, I found Goodreads because my library listed as a 'hotlink' of sites to visit. I found it, and fell in love, and have stayed ever since.

Sometimes, I'm down right mooney-eyed and sickening over the whole thing.

Thanks, Otis! And congrats, you deserve it!
1 Great idea, Sarah! :)

1 I would appreciate all the suggestions being added, but ordering of to-read - or alphabetization of books - or some other management system would be fantastic. :)

1 I also like Ben's suggestion. It would make things easier to see.
1 Lisa, I have Firefox, too. I don't know what to make of the new system, but I am unclear as to if its working correctly because newer posts seem to be buried somewhere in the folders.

I thought, and I may be wrong about this, that it was different earlier this afternoon - the recent posts were right out under the heading and much easier to find.

Maybe I imagined it? lol :)

1 Hi Lisa,

I've been using the same method you've been employing.

1 Yes, I agree! Sounds fantastic! :D

1 Yes, yes, yes!

It seems backwards to me that I have to read the oldest posts first, instead of the most recent.

I'd rather read the most recent, and then if I have trouble following the discussion going back to previous pages.

Thanks! And a big smooch to Sherri for getting me to this thread! :D
