1 I'd be willing to help out as well.

1 I just went on my secret group to look and see if I had the same problem and, as it turns out, it does not show the comments like it does in my non-secret groups.

Hm. So..it doesn't seem to be a problem with your just group.

Haha that creeps me out too just thinking about it. Although, as a moderator, I do know that it's not very often that I do that and it's always for the purpose of figuring out where interest lies and keeping the group going.

I also tend to delete members if they have been inactive on GR (the website..just not my group) for over 8 months or so. Alot of people in my group, said in the survey, that sometimes the group seems more intimidating because of the number of members. However, it's really quite a small community when you get down to it. It's always the same members posting.

1 Hm..I never thought about this. I have to say that I definitely agree with what you came up with. I think that is fair.

I'll ponder it further and let you know if I have any other thoughts. However, my initial reaction is one of total agreement with what you concluded. It makes sense to me.

1 You know, in order to get participation on the survey, I offered a book giveaway. All you had to do was to do the survey (it was on the honor system) and you were in the running. Lots of people came out of the woodworks. You just have to get creative :)

Good luck Lori!

1 I actually created a member feedback survey to get any idea of these kind of things. It was really a great thing to do because I learned alot about those who lurked and those who didn't. I might suggest doing it.

Good point! I do that alot too!

1 I know what you are saying. I find that if you search under "members" and search based on who has been online last I can see members that haven't logged on in a while as they will be last. If you click on their profiles..it tells you when they were last active on Goodreads..as in signing on to the site. It's not what you are asking for..but it is similar.
Annoying Ad!! (16 new)

1 LOL! These ads keep scaring me because sometimes they will talk or have sound and I'm not ready for it!

1 I believe that when you go to delete your profile..you have an option of taking all your posts and what not with you, so to speak, or just keeping them there. However, I'm not positive but that's what I thought.

1 I didn't want to make a complete new post for this.

But I just want to express how awesome you guys are! Every time I have a problem or suggestion, it is fixed or responded to so quickly! In alot of other forums, having a feedback group is useless because nobody listens to you, but here, it is totally different!

So, thank you, for making things better for me, as a reader, and for allowing me to make my group better!

1 I mean..it's not super top priority or anything ..but at some point I'd like to be able to do it...for my OCD's sake. :)

1 It's weird because I am the creator of the group & moderator so I would think I would be able to.

1 I know how to delete the poll. It says that I don't have permission to do that when I hit the "edit" button when it was created by someone else.

1 As a moderator it seems I am not able to delete polls posted by other people. Is there a way to do this that I'm not seeing? I'm trying to clean the group up a little bit and delete obsolete polls but if it was created by someone else, it seems that I can't.

1 With the whole making it easier to follow threads you are commenting..someone also added for there to be a way to know if someone hit "reply" to one of your comments.

Also, I thought it might be a nice feature, on the topic of seeing books people in the group are reading, if there was a place within the group that could show a list of top books marked "to read" and "read" in this group..kind of like you have with the top books read in book groups on GR. I think it would be a nice feature when trying to nominate a book for a discussion or if you are trying to get a group together to read a certain book.

Friends (5 new)

1 Today I had a thought. I wish there was a way to group your friends list. For instance, I'm a moderator of a group but I also am active in other groups so I do have quite a few friends. It would be really nice to be able to group my friends list so that it could be "College Students, "Reading Challenge" "Friends in Real Life" , etc. etc.

Is there an option for this that I'm just not seeing?
