1 I have had that happen a couple of times. And I just had to go back do it all over. But it I can't remember when the last time it happened.

1 As many of you do i carefully choose to accept or not to accept friends requests.

At the same time I don't like to send friends requests to just anyone. Like on Facebook I try not to send friend request to people I don't actually know unless it an writer or artist that doesn't have an fan page there.

Though I am a little more willing to accept friend here than Facebook after I look at their bookshelf.

Has for authors here I usually just become a fan. Though some of my favorite one I have become friends with here.

Well today the emails are coming in fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that stays that way.

Yes I do use Hotmail. But this was the first time I have ever had this problem since I starting using my Hotmail account 2 years ago.

1 Well what ever the problems was with me having to verify my email for the last 4 days in a row is fixed. I actually had emails again from Goodreads today.

So all is well in the Kingdom(for now).

I see I'm not the only one having this problem. I was wondering if it was just me or not.

1 I love the app for android. Especially being able to scan a book I see in the bookstore and add it to my "to read" shelve. no more writing it down and losing it.

1 Sorry I miss understood.

1 You should be able to look up the collected editions up by their ISBn #.. It will be either a 10 or 13 digit #.

1 I just downloaded the app on my phone last night. And I played with it for a while and I have to say I love it.

I can't wait to head to the books store and start scanning books to add to my to read page. No more writing every title down that I see that I want to pick up later.

I haven't fully done everything with it but from what I see I'm going to throughly enjoy this.

Thanks goodreads.
1 Awesome. Thanks
1 I posted a book to facebook the other day and then one of my friends on Facebook wnated to share the book with his friends.

Now when ever I post something from other sights like or on Facebook there is an option for my friends to share the article or info with their friends. It would be nice for that option to be availble when posting or sharing on Facebook.

I don't know how that would be abled to fixed or worked out.

The more people who can see it the more people who become aware of goodreads.

1 I see your point. Thanks for the comments.

1 I noticed a poll on political systems and asking which one you would want or agree with.

I have to wonder is this the place for that? I mean if your talking about a book that is about that yes it is.

But this is just a poll asking what political system you want for this country or believe in. As mentioned in other discussions how we don't want to turn Goodreads into a dating service neither do we want to turn this site into a political one.

I have seen sites that discuss politics and most of them sooner or later turn nasty. When it comes to politics and religion people tend to get mean especially when people don't agree with them.

I understand that the person who started this poll cares about where this country may be heading but this is a site for discussing books. One should be careful when starting discussion like this on a site that has nothing to do with the topic on hand.

There are plenty of sites for talking politics and the such.

Any thoughts or am I over reacting?

Just go to your account page. On the right side of the page you will see your photo. Under that will be the option to delete/change photo. You click that then you can change your photo.

1 I noticed he deleted all negative reviews and/or comments from the books page earlier.

If your going to write a book such as this you should expect things like this. Deleting the comments only make you look like your don't have faith in your book to stand.

After reading some of the blogs I can see why he had to self publish. Any publisher touching that would be setting itself for a law suit if big proportions. Either way being self publish just keeps it below the radar.

1 When I first joined I looked at it more out of curiosity than anything else. It's something I would miss if you removed. And it's not something that it's not a problem keeping unless no one is looking at it.

Shelfari (13 new)

1 I was on Shelfari before I found Goodreads. Though I still have an account(or whatever you call it) with them I was having problems for the longest time.

1) I couldn't see what was on my shelf. I emailed and the kept saying they could see my shelf.

2) Whatever causing me not see my shelf also was causing me not being able to update my page at all.

The only thing I could do was on the recommend page was that was click yes or no and write a reason why I did or didn't recommended it.

Then I found Goodreads. So much easier. I already have a couple hundred more books here than I did on there. Also like the fact if I want to buy a book I have many places to choose from here. On there it was Amazon or nothing.

Want to the funny part? After I joined Goodreads I went back to Shelfari and low and behold I could now see my books on the shelf.

I will eventually delete my account there.
1 Strange. I use Firefox and all I see are the ads on the right side of the page but nothing that pops open over the page.

I don't what to say except check your settings.
