Cute Eats Cute portrays a contemporary family that is pulled down the slippery slope of controversy merely because they don’t agree with each other. If Holden Caulfield had grown up in age of environmental politics, he might sound like the narrator of the book, 15-year-old Sam. Set in a mid-western town at the turn of the millennium, Sam’s mother embraces Wicca, his dad dials in talk radio, and his eco-warrior friends shift into hyper-drive as the community goes up in arms when deer are slated for culling from a large urban park. An unsuspecting U.S. President authorizes a covert mission to end the genocide by taking out leading war criminals, who repeatedly blocked the United Nations’ peace efforts.View Details »
In order to protect their kickback scheme with the war criminals, the ruthless U.S. officials promptly betray the mission, and hire an army of foreign mercenaries to ambush and destroy American commandos sent to carry out the assassinations. Barely surviving a bloodbath in the jungle, leader of the commando unit, Brett Collins finds out about the shocking conspiracy, rogue CIA agents, and high-ranking UN diplomats who accept bribes to vote down UN military intervention while thousands of innocent and defenseless men, women and children are slaughtered daily. Forming an alliance with a stunningly beautiful British Intelligence agent, Agatha Cornwell, and an idealistic African soldier, Major Danka, whose wife and children were burned alive as punishment for challenging the war criminals, Brett would take on the transcontinental network of powerful men and their assassins in order to liberate, avenge, and also prevent a sure-fire nuclear “dirty-bomb” attack on two million Americans by angry, surviving victims of the genocide.
Inspired by actual, true-life events, Permanent Enemy is a bullet-fast, action-packed international thriller, filled with nail-biting suspense and stunning surprises. It’s the first novel in a series.

In Orfeo, Powers tells the story of a man journeying into his past as he desperately flees the present. Composer Peter Els opens the door one evening to find the police on his doorstep. His home microbiology lab—the latest experiment in his lifelong attempt to find music in surprising patterns—has aroused the suspicions of Homeland Security. Panicked by the raid, Els turns fugitive. As an Internet-fueled hysteria erupts, Els—the "Bioterrorist Bach"—pays a final visit to the people he loves, those who shaped his musical journey. Through the help of his ex-wife, his daughter, and his longtime collaborator, Els hatches a plan to turn this disastrous collision with the security state into a work of art that will reawaken its audience to the sounds all around them. The result is a novel that soars in spirit and language by a writer who “may be America’s most ambitious novelist” (Kevin Berger, San Francisco Chronicle). Having settled in to his new gulf-front home on Sand Key, a barrier island off the west coast of Florida with turquoise water, gentle breezes, and spectacular sunsets, Jason quickly learns that his idyllic life of solitude will require more effort than he anticipated. The unlikely friendship between the two leads to a madcap caper involving an unbearably clingy ex-wife seeking a share of Jason's windfall, an expletive spewing parrot, a revenge-seeking mafia family, two mysterious men dressed in black, and a gorgeous young woman called Running Bush who catches Jason's eye.

Yearning is often considered a passive thing. But this ignores the molten core of havoc that lies within, making it the most hair-trigger of states. Death in Venice, California, takes the burning concept of yearning-as-motivator, jams it into the craw of a staid, entitled central character, and sets him loose, unmoored, in the modern world.View Details »
Jameson Frame, an educated, even revered, middle-aged man of letters, flees the cold canyons of Manhattan for Venice, California, where he is soon surrounded by all that this Bedouin village has to offer: wiccans, vegans, transients, artists, drummers, muscle men, skateboarders, plastic surgeons, pornographers, tarot card readers and ghouls. And an arrestingly beautiful young man named Chase, the subject and object of his yearning.
From there, Frame enters into a spiral of liberation, exultation, and, ultimately, destruction. And, as Frame explores his terra incognita, he takes his reader with him on his wild journey of passion, ecstasy, chaos, and consumption, all exploring the nature of self against the modern landscape, all set to the rhythm of the human heartbeat. The original prayers in this work were prompted from deep within my soul during a time I was suffering from post trauma. Nights were the most difficult. I experienced feelings of terror. I felt paralyzed and too frightened to pray using my own words. My faith in a loving God was never-the-less intact and the thought occurred to me that I could pray the Lord’s Prayer. By holding each word or phrase quietly in my heart, The Still Small Voice Within gifted me with words.
The blessings from these prayers surprised me. I discovered many names and descriptors for God found in the Bible. My eyes were opened to nuances of meaning regarding the concept of forgiveness, the ways I needed to be nurtured spiritually, and to know that the Lord was present with me even though I didn’t have the awareness at the time. Gradually I experienced deep healing. Even though I’m shy by nature, frequently self-doubting and a flawed person, by God’s grace I am able to speak before audiences, teach, lead retreats, write and publish. I am thankful.

This 31-day devotional explores how we can share our dreams and fears with God, and discover that He cares and loves our dreams. Each day features Bible verses for meditation and a short essay for your personal reflection and prayer.
If you've wondered if your dreams will ever come true...
By the end of our month together, you'll find new hope for your dreams, and Jesus calling you into a relationship that will be a lifelong source of comfort and strength.
From this day forward, while you're waiting for your dream, you'll know that you're not alone.
Waiting is often when God draws us closest to Him, to receive the gift of His companionship. Instead of waiting on God to fix your life, you'll find that you are working with God to create the life He's planned for you all along.
When you feel alone, don't despair: God is with you. God loves you. God will never abandon you.
Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink,
He will still be with you to teach you. You will see your teacher with
your own eyes. Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go,"
whether to the right or to the left. ~ Isaiah 30:20 -22 [close]

In this emotionally powerful WWII drama, children's book writer Natalie Lucas looks to her faith in God to help her beloved Jewish niece Mila escape the approaching Nazi menace in Hungary. Natalie's twin sister, the celebrated poet and professor, Anna Lucas, has succumbed to early-onset dementia, making the situation even more unstable for Natalie and Mila. Natalie and Anna's personal and professional relationship provides an interesting subplot whch focuses on the foundations of sisterly love. In the meantime, surrounded by violence and the threat of capture, Natalie must find a safe way out of the country for Mila. She eventually turns to her teenage sweetheart, Deszo, a Professor whom she rejected in order to marry her true love, Max. The past love triangle between Deszo, Natalie and Anna adds further complications; however, Deszo may provide Mila with her only chance of escape. As Natalie and Deszo are thrown together by their mission to save Mila, their love for one another is re-ignighted. After the Nazis learn of Deszo's assistance to the Jews, he and Natalie are brutally interrogated by a Nazi officer who has been following their activities, and their lives are in danger. After many doubts as to who in their community is friend or foe, the novel culminates with a heart-wrenching conclusion which provokes questions of loyalty, family and above all--faith. Author's Note: Love in a Time of War is a re-telling of Mrs. Tuesday's Departure, my first novel. LOVE as the title suggests contains both a romance and the happy ending that readers told me they wanted. It is with great happiness that I am able to provide both in this story. [close]

Will Keisha and Tristan exercise their elaborate EXIT STRATEGY and end their unorthodox arrangement?
Assailed by demons she thought she had conquered, Keisha Beale has uttered the words to end her tumultuous relationship with Tristan White. Separated, they grapple for a time with their personal demons. However, when their lives apart become unbearable, a credible threat brings them back together prematurely.
As they seek to discover who is responsible for the threats, several seemingly unrelated incidents throw them into a tailspin. Will Keisha's youthful indiscretions or Tristan's un-reconciled feelings for an ex derail their tenuous arrangement?
In the meantime, trouble in Nathan and Jada's paradise send dramatic ripples that hint of future difficulties in the idyllic pairing.
Tristan uses his vast wealth and connections to correct a gross miscarriage of justice, while Keisha makes herself utterly vulnerable to Tristan and fears he has chosen to exercise his own exit strategy.
Will this be the end of the indecent proposal that became a fairy tale? Or will Keisha and Tristan reveal the trauma from their pasts so they may heal and completely embrace their relationship?
Sensual, suspenseful, and still infused with the riotous levity of Triple-G and Fairy Hoochie Mama, the Ghetto Girl Romance Quadrilogy departs from full parody with a distinctive take on love, loyalty, sacrifice, redemption, and acceptance.

A twisted novella from the author of Bobby's Boy and Naebody's Hero.
It's not easy being Head Boy.
Follow Davie Diller for seven days as he navigates his way through his turbulent life. A scheming bastard in and out of school, Diller screws, drinks, snorts, cons and kills his way through the Lanarkshire underworld and attempts to survive the attention of his local drug-lord, Hondo, who's less than impressed by Diller's growing debt and status; He's also having a busy week at school.
A brutal and wickedly funny novella inspired by The Prodigy's 'Smack my Bitch Up’ music video and by John Niven's 'Kill your Friends'.
Contains strong language and graphic violence throughout.
Praise for Head Boy:
"His Diller creation is in equal measures compulsive and repulsive." - Ryan Bracha, author of Tomorrow's Chip Paper.
"The language is strong and the violence is sickening yet it all blends together to be yet another triumph from the author who is maturing with every book. Simply stunning!" - Colette Brown, author of Maybe The Universe Just Isn't That Into You!
What the Readers say:
"Very different from the previous Mark Wilson books. Gruesome and gripping story, but still has that trademark underlying Lanarkshire humour - couldn't put it down. A fantastic read."
"Davie Diller is an emotionally inept young man and a scary bastard. I think I quite fancy him! I was particularly pleased to see PTSD feature in the novel and be handled in a respectful and realistic manner." Von Prostitution über Mord bis hin zum schmählichen Vertrauensmissbrauch und Ende einer Freundschaft bietet sie alles, um den Leser auf seiner Reise zur versöhnlichen Lösung bei Laune zu halten.
