Desperate people in the far future sacrifice almost everything that is dear to them and time travel over 800 years into the past to seventeenth-century France. They had what they thought was a great plan to manipulate people and events in the past so as to create the super people needed in the future to help defeat the alien attack. But their plan failed. And now someone else has to pick up the pieces.
These “someones” might be the musketeers and lady musketeer, Laurel, who must somehow help the advanced people from the future defeat their mortal enemy.
Musketeer swords against aliens who apparently followed the future people back in time are just part of the story. Memorable characters become your friends and you see that the essence of humanity has not changed in hundreds of years despite technology advances and powers of the mind never even dreamed of in the seventeenth century.
The readers become a part of the adventure. What a great feeling to get away from your boring world and travel to the future and to the past and to worlds far beyond our own, all the time having the grandest adventure of your life. Super heroes and just plain heroes sacrifice all to save their loved ones and their world.
And Jala does discover that life really does give you a second chance, and a third, and even more than you ever deserve.
