This group's focus includes the following - autobiographies, military history, British history, World history, American history, SCOTUS, POTUS, ancient history, historical fiction and non-fiction books, current events, poetry, music, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, Civil Rights, the American Civil War, all World Wars, 50 books and movie challenges, history of Africa, art and architecture, European History, Latin American history, history of religions, the Napoleonic Wars, naval history, Native American history, history of Asia and all other historical genres; but with a heavy focus on non fiction books. Roosevelt's Centurions by Joseph E. Persico opened 5/28 and the author has joined us. The World History group discussion is the book Houses of Stone: : A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East by Anthony Shadid. In the Presidential Series we are discussing: Woodrow Wilson: A Biography by John Milton Cooper Jr. Our Reading Challenge is "A Book Safari to the Middle East" - focusing on the traditional Middle East countries. In the historical fiction area, we have featured The October Horse, #5 by Colleen McCullough. And, of course, our discussion of the Federalist Papers continues. We have a yearlong discussion taking place on The Thirty Years War: Europe's Tragedy by Peter H. Wilson. Upcoming The Metaphysical Club by Louis Menand - 06/20/13 Blood of Tyrants by Logan Beirne - TBD - The author will be joining us for the discussion.
