I bought the 505 model over three years ago and had been contemplating upgrading but each new Sony model just hadn't lived up to the older 505. This one not only does, it surpasses it. With the 650, Sony solved all the issues the 600 model had. The double screen is gone, increasing clarity (the main reason why I hadn't upgraded to the older touchscreen models), the home screen was redone to emphasize the last-opened book, the Reader has the option of cover navigation, there are more text size op ...more

I just received a Sony Touch Screen edition as a gift over the Xmas holidays, so I'm not yet familiar with all its extra features.

However, I'm very pleased with the ones I've already tried.

The best feature is the clarity of text, even on a 6 inch screen, even when the type is set to large print. I also like being able to darken the screen from stark white to a softer gray, which is much easier on the eyes.

Another feature I like about the Sony 650 is the inclusing of page numbers at the bottom of

I love this ereader, it is my first ereader but won't be my last. It is compatible with waterstones and whsmith but not kindle books (I believe). Being a touch screen means that flicking pages is easy as is accessing books. What is a cool feature is that music can be played through head phones while reader, if you wish to switch a song there is a direct link between song choses and the book you are reading.

However I have only given four stars due mainly to the power slider switch becoming faultl

After reading alot of other peoples opinions, this is what convinced me. The touch screen/real button combo - the layout made the most sense and was comfortable to use. The internal memory with the huge expansion (not that you need it!) and the number of acceptable formats. Not having to convert everything is nice! I use this a lot more than I thought I ever would though I still read quite a few paper books. My lovely friend goes with me everywhere!

For people like me who love to multi-task my books, this is the best solution!

I do miss the feeling of the pages, but the key here is giving me access to reading 24/7 without having to decide which book to carry.

I chose this eReader for a variety of reasons.

1. It is quite light, which is a lot better on my hands than a book.
2. It has a touch screen. My palms will get a rest from having to hold open a book or click a button with my thumb to turn the page.
3. I can make the print much bigger than standard print books. This lessens my eye strain and lets me read for longer time periods.
4. I can add my favorite photos to the eReader as a screen saver. I can also add documents as well.
5. It has expandable me

The best reader I've had ever. Touch screen, crisp contrast... And now, with the non oficial PRSPlus firmware I can switch epub styles in a few seconds (fonts, margins, etc).

Screen clarity as good as the kindle, in the end of the day they use the same screen. Reasons that made me choose the sony after seeing and reading for a while with both the sony and the kindle:
1. Touch screen. It's the most convenient way of flipping pages and using the dictionary while reading. I can read and flip in any position, and it is awesome with a stand case.
2. epub support.
3. Size, weight and aluminium case which all give it a nicer feeling.

It costed a bit more than other readers but

I absolutely love my Sony PRS – 650 Touch Edition; I take is with me where ever I go! And at a touch of a button I have hundreds of books at my disposal!
The screen is the truly amazing thing! See Sony developed this screen to be paper like and thus not straining your eyes at all. I can read for hours and don’t even notice that it is an electronic device I use and not a book. No headaches like with a computer screen!
This is a user friendly device, as it is very easy to navigate your way through i

I have owned the PRS-650 for several weeks now and I really enjoy it. The build quality is obvious from the moment you open the package. The controls are intuitive, the screen is incredibly clear, and the programs work flawlessly. The PRS-650 also handles PDFs better than just about any other e-reader on the market. If you can afford the price of the reader, you will find it is easy to use, and is very well built, and functions as expected. You won't be disappointed.

The cons: It is pricey, and a

I had this for a few years, read a few books on it then give up. It wasn't bad but it was heavy. I love to read lying down and this reader is just not made for that, it's heavy and when it eventually slipped out of your hand, the metal casing does not play nice with your face.

Apart from the weight, I also have problems with the glare and the overall design, the design was especially brutal to me. With the sensitive touch screen and a beautiful, thin, bexel, there just wasn't enough room for my

I adore my sony reader. so easy on the eyes and simple to use. I too thought I would never embrace the ereader but I have been converted. especially nice when reading what would be a big, thick, heavy hardback/paperback as it's so light - It goes everywhere with me & as i travel by public transport mostly lightweight is a big advantage.
My only quibble is I wish they'd made the case with the light rechargeable via the same usb connection. i have run thru a few batteries reading in bed or when

I am LOVING this gadget. I am catching up on my classics reading by downloading free e books from Of particular interest to someone with trifocal glasses is the ability to increase the size of the font. Just brilliant. And the dictionaries are so useful.
