I am in love with my NOOK. I love how it fits right in my purse and I have all my books available to me when I want them. I love all the features the NOOK offers, I only own the 1st edition NOOK but it serves the purpose of reading and a fast delivery of a book that I want.

I like how I can get library books on my NOOK they are easy to load and are easy to return.

I have the Nook App on my tablet. It does everything the Kindle App does except it is easier to navigate the pages. Therefore if I am buying a boxed set or an anthology I usually get it as an ePub and read it on my Nook App. However the note feature does not work as well as the Kindle, so I prefer the Kindle for any book I want to be able to take notes on for a review, editing, or beta reading.

I enjoy my Nook. I have currently 600 books on it. My wife was so impressed with mine ( she got it for my on my birthday) that I had to get her on last Christmas.
I Wi-Fi to my home internet so its really easy to get more books. I like it better than the Kindle a friend of mine has.

I LOVE my NOOK! I take it everywhere. You never know what life brings us, a delay @ the Dr's office, long lines, and unexpected errands so I read whenever/wherever. I recommend a NOOK for readers!

I completely love my NOOK! It's extremely portable and easy to prop up and read anywhere. It is also extremely easy to download new books. Sure, sometimes I wish there was more text/screen real estate and I don't think I could ever give up traditional paperbacks but the Nook does exactly what it is advertised to do! The Nook is a great portable e-reader option.

I like the nook, but seeing the new version was a disappointment. Whereas the Kindle has updated to newer, lighter, better screens, but maintained a similar size and shape, the first-generation nook is going to be the only device I will own in the series.

Disappointment aside, I do like my nook -- don't get me wrong. I wish the screen were a newer generation Pearl screen (like the Kindle 3 or nook touch), and I wish the touch screen were more responsive. Using the touch-screen for anything is alm

I have owned two nooks. The 3g and the wifi. My wife is getting the simple touch and I will be getting the color for Christmas. I love the nook. it does what it says it does and that's what matters. I have never been able to read more easily.
People get upset because it doesnt do what they want it to.
But the nook was made to read books sold by Barnes and Noble. And it does that just fine.

I use my Nook to do most of my reading and my editing.

The e-ink is soothing on my eyes, unlike backlit screens.

I love my Nook. Best Christmas gift ever. I didn't think I would like it because I have always loved the feel of a book in my hands, but with my cover, I still get a similar feel. The benefit is that I have ALL of my books with me! I also own a Nook Tablet, but I actually like my first gen Nook better. It is a better reading screen and I can read outside at the beach or pool. I take it EVERYWHERE!

While I will never give up paper books, this is a great device for portabillity. It makes it so easy to travel and commute, since I always have more than one book going at a time. The e-ink is great, and saves my eyes after 8 hours of staring at a backlit monitor. My only complaint is that the search engine isn't especially robust when I'm looking for a book - oftentimes it gives me too many vague returns based on what it believes a keyword is, or doesn't allow a slightly fuzzy search that would ...more

I love my nook. the battery life is amazing, i like the size and feel of it and i love e-ink! The only issue i ever have with it is connecting to the internet on it, but since i don't own it for it's internet capabilities i don't mind it.

I've owned my Nook for several months now and enjoy it A LOT! E-ink is the way to go -- easy on the eyes and the battery. I can purchase books directly using wi-fi or purchase, download, and then "sideload" onto the Nook. Battery life is in the 5-7 days per charge range, but I read for several hours a day. Only two gripes with it. First, it doesn't read plain text (.txt) files. And second, I have to put books into "shelves" AFTER they've been placed on the Nook. But these are small gripes. I tho ...more

LOVE my nook only thing is would have would have liked 3G but hubby purchased it not me. He did get wi-fi at home though so all is good. Like the format and it's so simple to use. I am not a gadget girl and was a paper book snob for a long time. I realized that I would save money buying an e-reader for the books I bought. I have a VERY tiny home and no storage so my books were cluttering the house. Now they are organized and at my finger tips. Plus with the lend me ability I can share them with ...more

My battery lasts 1-2 months so far, before re-charges, whether I want to or not, when connected.

Blackberry supposedly has Kobo feature plus email internet other capabilities and can read while re-charging. This must be physically connected to PC to sync Adobe Digital Editions (PDF files), added to shelf one at a time, charges battery then whether needed or not, and one cant read meanwhile.

Pretty new feature displays front page of book when turned off without draining battery power, but some eb

I LOVE my Nook. I hardly ever read before I got it, but now I read ALL the time. I can go for days without charging it, especially if I have the Airplane Mode on. Also, it lets you organize your books by shelves, and I love that. Very durable, too. I've dropped mine several times since it goes everywhere with me, and I've never had a problem with it. I tell all my friends about it, even if they don't want to hear it.
